Page 8 of 13 It’s time for group and Rhonda says tonight is the first Board of Review. Jaclyn says she thinks that she will be called up tonight and she is letting her fear cloud her thoughts. Rhonda says if anyone gets a C she will be asked to leave. Lou says he isn’t nervous because he feels he is in touch with what they want him to get in touch with. Rhonda says that if one couple is asked to leave it is possible for the partner to decide if they want to stay in the house. Jennifer is saying in confessional that Lou is being flippant about the exercise and rebellious and childlike and she is concerned he will be asked to leave. Rhonda tells them there will be a few tonight and be ready to defend their progress in the house.
Simon is saying in confessional that he will be called up. He says he is a work in progress and he knows there are still things that he has to work on. Rhonda tells them they will be graded on attitude, completion, overall participation, what they have gained, etc. Finances are the topic of today’s group and Rhonda asks what are the challenges they have financially. Jen says that the bills always seem to be more than their income and that Lou’s income is very volatile. It’s stressful to run a budget and she takes all the stress. They all say they want help for their finances. Rhonda brings in the money coach Lynnette Khalfani to talk to the couples about money and improving their finances.
She says that 70% of all divorces sight financial issues. She asks Kacie and Simon what their issue is and Kacie says she has trouble paying the bills on time. The Money Coach tells her to set up automatic withdrawal from their bank account. She moves on to Cheryl and Troy and Cheryl says that she is in charge of the money so she will talk. The MC tells her that Troy also needs to be involved because she has set up a power or control over him with the money. Cheryl says that he needs to pay attention and the MC says he needs to participate as well. The MC asks Jen what would give her peace of mind and Jen says getting life insurance in place.
