Page 11 of 13 Cheryl says that she resents that Troy makes more money than she does. She says she has worked so hard in her life and career and doesn’t make half of what Troy makes and he’s never been to college. Cheryl says it pisses her off a little bit. Rhonda asks Troy what the main message he heard about money was and he said that he felt like love was being bought with it. Jen says she sometimes projects stress into if she were with someone else it wouldn’t be that way. She negatively projects her money issues on to Lou and she says it’s not fair because she doesn’t think that he is the problem.
Rhonda asks if anyone is resentful of being married. She says they can still love their partner and want to be with them, but is there some part of them that is resentful. Lou says there is no clean way to say it, but he feels Jen was the catalyst that gave him his first awakening and he has grown to the point where he doesn’t need her like he used to. He says it has thrown Jen into a tailspin because she doesn’t know what to do with him now that he doesn’t need her in those ways. He says that if he was then who he is now he would not have chosen her. Rhonda asks if he is settling and Lou says no. He wants it all with Jen and there is no one better that he could do it with. Dr. Stan says that first thing is to figure out what the problem is when you have a financial conflict and identify the real problem because it may not be about the money.
Jaclyn and Michael are lying in the bed and she is crying. Michael says in confessional that the best thing he can do for her is listen to her, be there, and support her. Jaclyn says she doubts herself so much and Michael tells her that he is proud of her. She says she hasn’t done anything for him to be proud of and he says look what we have done. She says it’s all been Michael doing the work. In confessional she says she feels like leaving the board of review tonight. She feels like her greatest fear is coming true and she wants to run and hide. Michael is holding her while she is crying.
