I'm glad you had a great trip. I love Swansboro. It's such a nice little town. It's on my list of places to go next time. Kinda takes you back in time.

I have stayed at Summerwinds, but it's been a long time ago. It's good if you have kids who want a pool.

The house we stayed in was about 3 miles or less before you get to the Food Lion in Emerald Isle, headed away from Atlantic Beach. It sounds like we stayed in about the same area.

Did you hear about the lady who got bit by a shark last week? I'm not kidding. It was at Atlantic Beach, which is only a few miles up the road from Emerald Isle. She got it pretty bad, but was released from the hosptial and went back home. She didn't finish her vacation. Witnesses to the attack helped her ashore, but said they were still going to stay for their vacation and still swim in the ocean. (It was about 9 feet long)

I like to walk out just to my ankles thank you. LOL.

Correction: the attach was on July 18 and the shark was 5 feet long. The lady who got bit was from Ohio.

Thanks... I was wondering about that date... glad you caught it was in July... Had me worried! My brother in law who is a real news hound had heard that there were 2 people bitten last week in South Carolina and they did close the beaches.. But I still haven't seen any reports... He said they weren't closed long.. I haven't done a search though.. Obviously someone keeps records..

That Hatteras incident sounds horrific!

I'll send that link of the Atlantic Beach attack on to my brother in law.. Maybe they won't want to do it anymore... She grew (my sister in law) up going to the mountains for vacations.. Their daughter doesn't particularly care for the ocean and this year my brother in law didn't go in much.. I might have to scope out a more northern Outer Banks destination! It's 8 hours for us to E.I.!

The kids are getting older and 4 of them will be in college this year.. Now we have to start worrying about boyfriends and girlfriends.. and future spouses.. Need something bigger.. A 4 bedroom condo won't cut it anymore! Got my eye on some great houses... Really enjoyed being in a beachfront house.. Was worth the extra moola!

We've had a few hot days............some 90's, which I hate!!! But I sure can't complain with what many of you are dealing with!!!

Hubby and I went to Houston...........heat AND humidity!! AUUGGHHH!!! I'll take the DRY heat after all!!! LOL

I have a client who just returned from Iraq. Thank God. He's been there almost 2 years. He tells me that it is 130 degress almost everyday! I can't even imagine.

The weather people say we have at least another week of 100 plus heat until next Sunday. I like warm weather, but this is just ridiculous. I feel so sorry for the outdoor workers like construction, landscapers, road crew, etc. and those poor pets out there in the heat all day.

We are once again on water restriction by the city. It seems as if it happens every year now. We get rain, but just not enough.
