I've had to distance myself while I'm watching............if THAT makes any sense!!! LOL

And watch for a lot of the info about Little People and some of the updates (the one with the little guy in So. Cal. on one of the recent shows melted my heart!!!!!!).

My teens are not perfect by any means.............but they NEVER speak to us the way the Rolloff children are allowed to speak to their parents. Mine have actual consequences that last longer than one hour!!!!

My daughter gets wonderful grades.........and when she started slipping (and by this I mean a we did make sure to figure out the problem!! She's 16 and the College classes she was in were very tough............but the class she just "forgot" to turn a big project in..........now THAT brought consequences!!!!

My son is 14 and honestly wouldn't even dream of treating us with such disrespect!!!

Debby.............ups and downs with kids.........teens included!! ...........is normal..........but those children have gone FAR beyond that. It's obvious that Matt wants to be the "good guy" and he may be genuinely worried about being permanently disabled or dying young. But it's still not healthy to raise the kids that way.......it WILL come back to bite them!!!

I think about much of what we saw on S.O. and some other similar advice...........the parental relationship is not strong and there's such a lack of love shown between the two of them. I think they both live for their children and their own interests. The kids will really be so subconsciously and consciously affected by that!!

There's much disharmony in that home........it always just seems like a "house" and not warm and loving and like a safe place to fall.....................I hope as they watch these episodes they can really analyze what we are seeing unfold!!!

Grizz,

I agree about the little guy in so. Cal.. It looks like he is making significant progress.. He is so animated and certainly compensates for his lack of ability to speak and lets his parents know what he wants. He's very bright!

I've enjoyed watching the segments about Little People too..

It is interesting that their family is so unique because of the fact that they have four kids with only 1 being a dwarf. They do have more issues to navigate because of that. Having as many dysfunctional issues as the Roloff's have is not normal though... and the majority of them have nothing to do with the parents dwarfism..

Maybe it's all the editing... Didn't we see that in SO? Maybe they want to compete with the other reality shows so they show the bad stuff... Maybe they think it could shame their kids to do the right thing... I sure would hate to be put under a microscope with this show... or any like it. I know my flaws would be magnified 100 x over.. I'd probably become paranoid...

I should check out their site at TLC. I wonder if some of the other fans/viewers are responding similarly.

I agree with both of you. It made me wonder how I would appear if a camera crew filmed me at home, in the car and at work for a couple of months. Actually, the only time I would really mind is first thing in the morning. LOL. I know it would make me keep my house spotless too. LOL. I think people would like me because I'm kind, funny and treat people right, IMO. I'm more of a peace maker than a fighter, except in court. LOL.

I honestly believe that Matt and Amy can sit and watch those episodes and not really see that much wrong in them. I think they think that's just the way it is. I think Amy is really clueless. Maybe living with a man and raising children pushes you to the brink, but, I have never spoken the way she speaks to Matt to anyone that I loved, except one time many years ago and I'm not happy about it.
