I always try to watch the program. I really enjoy it... I will definitely try to catch it!
Has anyone had a favorite episode?
My favorite was the family who had an autistic son.. and the parents were both deaf. They had an older son who seemed to be the glue to the family... or at least acted in the capacity of go between in a majority of situations..
The show was able to really help them update their home with technology that could help them all alot more. If I remember right... others were very impressed with the son..and offered him scholarship money. The updates in the house would allow him to be able to go away to school without worrying about his parents and younger brother..
That show greatly impressed me... and especially the young man's devotion to his brother and his parents..

KPW, I have only seen a couple of the shows. I didn't catch the one that you describe here.
THe family in Raleigh got so much support that it has been amazing. The Carolina Hurricanes, (our hockey team) went over yesterday and donated $10,000.00 to the family. I think it was so the family could help with a charity project that means alot to them.
I'll have to watch the show for the next few weeks.

Noooooooooooooooooooo...............don't make me!!!!!!!!!!
I truly can't pick a favorite.........they're all so moving and inspiring and I love to see the wonderful part of humanity that comes together. I'm so sick of the jerks and criminals that take advantage of others!! I also have such an appreciation for my own little family and the issues that we are spared!! It really helps with my perspective! Even my kids have said that although we love to admire and dream about the homes that are built.........we would never trade our family's situation for anything so horrendous that would be on that show!!!
A couple of shows that particularly touched me:
The mom who had 6 kids whose firefighter husband died in their bed............OMG!!
The dad in NY whose wife died of cancer and left him with 3 young boys..............OMG!!
Okay, okay.............I could go on and on!!!

Grizz, you reminded me of another favorite... The Iraq veteran that lost a leg. The show helped him be fitted with a special prothesis.. But this guy in having his home redone... asked that his windows be pulled out to be installed in another vets home (who was also severely wounded and disabled)... In essence trying to help someone else.. I guess his windows might not have been that old...
Yes, this show really does make me realize how very fortunate I am to have a roof over my head and the health of my loved ones. Sometimes we take it for granted!
Another favorite that is coming to mind... Is the one about the christian camp for handicapped children... It really bought some wonderful exposure to a terrific camp.. and helped to equip them to do even more in the future. I think there was a blind boy who sang Amazing Grace.. and so many of the EHM were in tears.. But then again..it's nice to see Ty and the other staff moved in so many of these situations too.
Yes, maybe I shouldn't have started a favorites topic... but the Deaf couple, with the younger autistic son.. were prominent in my mind... It highlighted one selfless young man who went above and beyond for his family on a regular basis..

Just a reminder for those who are interested. Extreme Makeover featuring a family in my city, Raleigh, NC, comes on this Sunday night, January 21 at 8:00. The previews look good.
