Today I was listening to a local television station in the Sacramento area, (CW 31), and they had a story stating that the Dr. Phil House was going to be closed. The reason they gave was that there had been complaints from neighbors because of all of the yelling that had been going on in the house. They also stated that it really wouldn't affect the show because they had already finished shooting the episodes that they would be using for the show. Sure didn't last long! Anyone else heard anything about this? (Bring back Starting Over )

I wouldn't be at all surprised...

One reason SO moved to LA was complaints from neighbors in Chicago. While trying to find a link to an article I remembered I happened on another that said even when SO was setting up shop in Chicago the first time... (before the women had even entered the house) that the neighbors had sued... and SO found another house in Chicago. So it appears at the end of the first season in Chicago they were still fielding complaints...

I think the original neighbors thought it was going to be another Real World type show.. and attract what is described by them as 'unsavory characters'. Of course at that point noone knew what SO was going to be about..

I recall reading one article about the move to LA mentioning the neighbors complaining (RE: the house they did wind up ultimately using) that the cameras were a distraction in the neighborhood and the activity at the house.

It's news to me that SO had to change locations (in Chicago) before they even got to start filming in Chicago due to neighbor complaints..

I've yet to see one of Dr. Phil's House episodes...

What's been the verdict? Good or not good?... SO like? , anything but?

I heard on the Dr. Phil show, itself, that they closed it just to renovate it for the next 6 people that are coming in. Shheeeesh!! And sure looks like they're a sad, sad bunch too!!! I didn't hear anything about it being closed permanently.


That first family was sure a mess. I think BOTH parents were sooooooooooo out of line...........but that trashy woman needed to be gone and I sure hope she doesn't get custody of the littlest one!!!!!!

My question is why Dr. PHil's staff can't locate any likeable people to be his guest in the house. (If you'll remember he used to pick a family and then just film inside their house for selected periods. They were obnoxious too) You know there has to be some nice people that are having problems and need some help from Dr. Phil, but he finds these really nasty, big mouthed, liars who are violent and have no desire to really change anything about themself.

That last family in his house was pathetic. They were BOTH totally unfit parents. It's sad but I saw not one good parenting skill in either parent. They didn't even bother to act like they loved those kids. Of course they said they did but they never did anything that would lead you to believe it. That's the way I saw it anyway. They continued to curse and trash each other so the kids could hear even after Dr. Phil REPEATEDLY warned them of the danger and forbade them to do it. AND when they knew it was being taped for television. How stupid can you be? Those kids suffered verbal and mental abuse from those losers.

I kept asking myself how Dr. Phil could create a desirable and acceptable spouse from 2 people who were unfit parents. When you hear of a teen who lost it and shot his family, I think of situatons like that family. Everybody knows it's going on but noone will stop it.

I heard on the aftermath that the mother's ex-husband had won custody of one of the boys. Thank God, I hope he is a better parent than she was.

Maybe they closed it and are phasing it out...hoping people will forget.. Even though I haven't seen any of it... I haven't heard anything positive from it.. I haven't heard much promoting it since the season debuted.

As Dr. Phil says.."How's it working for ya?" Maybe he has already asked himself this...and they are changing direction.

Doesn't sound like the 'House' concept is 'working'... Seems wierd to remodel between 'guests'...

dr. phil is out of control with the guests he has on his show. i guess only really crazy people would want dr. phil yelling at them on tv anyway. when that wife called her husband a big fat orange blob sitting on the couch, that was the funniest thing i've seen in a long time.
