If that is true that NBC called all the shots... why didn't they just come out and cancel the show..officially? I think they may have had at least equal responsibility? I've just always had the impression that B/M wasn't invested in the show. Complaints regarding the production end by the coaches, the fact that Rhonda's blog says that it was Bunim Murray who never acted on the contract options nor even discussed it with her or the status of the show. Usually if a show is formally cancelled, the producers and cast usually are united and typically sad about it and more importantly at least notified. NBC and Bunim Murray should have at least had the decency to let their employees know and the fan base as well.
I'm glad I'm not in showbiz to figure it all out.
I think if NBC is behind the decision, then there may be hope yet. It might depend on who owns rights to the show? Maybe NBC does since the official site has reverted to them. I just realized the other day when I saw a commercial for another show that supposedly had wrapped up it's long run with WB that it got revived and will be back after all! Fans of Seventh Heaven were successful turning it around.. Or so it appears.
In any case... I think there was a serious call in campaign to NBC and B/M.. I don't think it hurt to have both bases covered!

I agree that it did not hurt to cover our bases... I have never made an effort to save a TV program... this was a first for me. I'm glad I made the effort... I'm glad my voice may have been heard.

I think B/M bears the ultimate responsibility for SO's cancellation. The show was Mary Ellis Bunim's brainchild, after all. Maybe, after MEB's death, her surviving colleagues lost interest in the SO concept.
