I agree with you there, they probably had some inclination of what they were signing up for...I mean if they didn't this could really blow up in CBS's face. And I think it is just to get more people in to watch...like you said there are so many reality shows out there to choose from.

Survivor was my first reality show. I've watched every season, some twice when they were re airing them on OLN. I've always liked it, but after what 12 seasons they really need to think of something different or they are going to lose their audience, but I don't think using race is a good way to keep their viewers happy. Right now Survivor and Big Brother are my ONLY reality tv...I wouldn't even have time for another one...lol.

I am surprised that they would try to do that... I think it could promote more controversy than entertainment..

Maybe that is what they are striving for! Maybe they feel a minority will have a more equal chance of winning.

Maybe I'm missing the point! I'd just hate for any of the teams to be pitted against each other like that!

We know how hostile the environment can be normally... Maybe Survivor feels they have to up the ante to draw back a bigger share of the audience... Weren't they the first major reality show on network tv?

As mentioned earlier, Survivor is drawing plenty of attention several weeks before it will even air! Many people in the media are blasting it, and even politicians are calling for it to be pulled without airing.
