Does anyone out there watch this show? If so, who is your favorite?

I think Lucas (the kid who looks like Marlon Brando) is really wierd. He definately is a deva.

I like the woman with the red dred locks and lip pearcings (she sang Time after Time)

The freaky chick in the blue pant suit should have gone home. But, I think she makes good television and is more interesting than the bobble head dork that did get sent home.

What do you think?

I love the show. I agree with you. I like the girl with the red hair. She is a strong singer and good perfomer. She also has a good personality. At first I liked the Austrailan guy, but, he has lost it.

I like the girl who stood up to SuperNova about the grinding on stage. Those guys act and look anyway they want and are always addressing the women with sexual comments, however, when a girl does something, then the guys act repulsed. I don't think she did anything wrong. What about other artists who girate on stage.....
Elvis, Madonna, Prince, Mick Jagguar, just to name a few.

I think they want to toy with the girls then kick them off one by one and select a guy, even though the women are better performers as a whole.

I also think SuperNova is confused about their band. The instrumental music they played for the contestants the other night, was old style rockin roll. They said that was the type of music they were going to be playing. So, why do they criticize performances that have they same flavor?

A lead singer for an old style Rockin Roll band would not perform with the style of a heavy metal performer. It's like having Ozzy Osborne singing volcals for a chamber music quartet. It doesn't match, IMO.

i really like lukas and dilana (sp?) too. i don't know how i felt the situation with jill the other night - on the one hand, you are right debby that there is a double standard for men and women on sexuality on stage. but, i thought that the way she did it looked really forced and like she was chasing gilby all over the stage. also, apparently this was cut but she hit him with the mike stand while she was going around - he mentioned it to her and she said 'oh i didn't notice' and he replied 'that's exactly my point'. i checked out the mssg boards the other night and there were ppl who had attended the taping and gave the scoop on what was cut.

and i know what you mean debby about their intentions with picking a guy. i'd like nothing more than to see them pick dilana cos i think she's one of the most awesome performers i've ever seen, every song she does, but i can see it going the way of last year when it seemed like they loved suzie and had nothing bad to say about her but in the end picked annoying JD, to me, cos he was a guy.

re: phil (was that his name..?) being cut instead of zayira (sp?), that was something else which apparently was cut out of the show - one of the guys produced a recent newspaper interview with the dude in which he was quoted as saying he didn't care about supernova but was more interested in getting publicity for his current band; one of the guys was apparently really hurt by this cos he had really wanted to keep phil around, and they addressed the entire group warning that no one else had better be there for similar reasons. so while i did not like zayira's performance, i can see why she was kept instead of phil...

who knew that 'what we don't see' could be as much of a factor as in SO!

Not to sound insensitive, but, if SuperNova wants wild surprising antics on stage, then they have to be prepared for the possibility of a little danger on stage. All they talk about is "shock us so we never know what to expect." In order to do this, a fair amount of activity by the performer must be expected. I'm so glad that Jill wasn't even in the bottom 3 this week. It may be a good move to antaganize the band. A smart mouth that invites controversey is a ratings getter. They may keep them around for the verbal banter.

I think Gilby and Dave Navarro (sp?) need a reality check on themself. I think Tommy Lee is the most real... can you believe that?

I also heard that one of the guys ran into a guy from Supernova on stage the other week. This was shown during the show. I missed it, must have ran to the bathroom or something. My friend said it was funny. Apparently nobody got hurt. Don't they practice before the show?

Yeah, after all, thoses contestants are not professionals.

Correction: I may not have quoted the name of the girl who danced to Brown Sugar correctly. I said Jill but, now I'm not sure if it was Jill or not. I think Jill was one of the bottom three. She had perfomed a Black Crows Song.

I simply must write their names down so I can keep them straight.
