I agree with happygirl and startovernut, (love that nick!

I could see so many similarities, and just knew, so very well where Christie was coming from, what stages she was at in her 'recovery' (outside the SOH), but it did bring a lot of good/bad things up for her there.
For example, I have a few years in recovery, 12 step, and know that Christie was also doing this work, along with the SOH work. (The reson they didn't talk about it, is that 12 step is to remain anonymous, at the level of the public.) I've sponsored many women, and had various sponsors for my time here, on earth.
I think that it was very apropos that Rhonda be her LC, as Rhonda also has about the same time as I do, and I know what it's like to work with newcomers.
'Newcomers' in 12 step, to me, is anyone with under a year. And those first 3-6 months are sooooo hard. So many of our character defects come up for us, when we take away the thing that kept us from facing those defects and growing/sharing. (As in alcohol, drugs, sex, depndency on anything that keeps us from truly seeing ourselves.)
So, while many ppl would look at Christie as being bratty, I would too, but I could, also, see why she was the way she was. I remember being there, myself, (my poor first sponsor!!

)
I also work with so many other women that are/have gone thru it and watched closely, as we tend to almost 'live together' so much in the beginning, (as in spend so much time together or on phone, or at meetings, etc.) I could see the ways Christie was changing, some very subtly some right out in the others' faces! lol
There are others on this MB that could, also, as they've been down the same path.
That's why I tended to not be as critical as some, but also understand *why* those 'some' did think the way they did.
If it is something as life altering as 12 step recovery is, (it's even more life altering than the SOH), for many, it's really hard to understand unless you or another close person, that has/is going thru it.
Because the changes one goes thru in 12 step, make a difference in *LIFE or DEATH*, literally, for most of us.
The changes in the SOH, are in themselves life altering for the better, but most of these problems with which the women come, are not life and death choices.
IOW they can choose to continue, *not* going with the SO changes, or going *gung-ho* over these SO changes, and still live, (albeit, not as happily, nor as intuitively as they learn thru SOH), but they can still *live*.
