Serena is dead on right about this! Although it seems rather appalling that Rhonda would get so angry with Lisa, Lisa needed that. The whole point of the exercise was not to make all of the jewellry nor was it even to sell all of it, but to make Lisa aware of her own abilities as well as to be accountable for time. It was such a simple exercise. Make a few pieces of jewellry; figure out that not all can be made; make the appointment with Rhonda. She would have been in so much less trouble had she thought about what she was doing rather than how she was doing it. Look how frustrated she got. Look how annoyed the hgs were. Lisa just doesn't understand that the world does not revolve around her.

Yupyupyup!

WOW jhal, many great points there! And I agree with many of the others' points, also.
I was going to vent today anyway, and you've put out so much I already feel.....thanks!
Just be warned, ppl!

I think the main thing was that Rhonda, (and she even said this....with taking away any steps she thought she would have given lisa), had given her an exercise that lisa *herself* had put out there, as something she could do and very well. It was 'right up her alley'!

She told Rhonda that she was 'creative', 'good at selling' and another salient attribute, (CRS here). This whole exercise was built around following thru what lisa had told Rhonda she was good at, and to boost lisa up there, give her a few steps even! Rhonda had given her such an easy task, if lisa hadn't lied about herself. (Whether she thought so or not.)
But lisa, (who so far for ME, personally only is good for one thing, and that was to bring me to this place! REALLY!! So much for similarities/differences, I see none at all of either, I don't think I've ever met a 'lisa' in my life), just wasted her time.
It seems that any time she is given anything to do, without anyone, (as in the restaurant ppl, they guys at the ranch), right there telling her exactly what to do, she falters. And it's all this act of being 'helpless'.
I can NOT *fathom* how she would/did feel watching herself on the show when it played on TV. Hehehehe

When she didn't get thru to Rhonda, she should have shown up with what she had, and at least tried, put out the effort of RESPECTING the time that Rhonda put aside in *her life* to help lisa. She didn't. She didn't even respect her roomies for the help, as she never attempted to finish.
(I loved it when Christina said something like, "Have fun!" today to lisa, and that none of them helped her. I don't think any of them would have, even if Rhonda hadn't told them not to.)

Rhonda walks in after 1 1/2 hours (!!!) and finds her where?

At the table working still? Nope.
On the way to meet Rhonda? Nope.
On the phone leaving Rhonda another message? Nope.

On the patio/porch, chatting away and forgetting Rhonda at all. How disrespectful can you be?

Why is this beyond me? I would think, that *especially* getting 'chewed out', rightfully so, (even I was surprised at Rhonda's anger, but I can certainly understand it. You GO Rhonda!! Nothing short of that would have gotten through to lisa, IMO), did she not go back to finishing the jewelry, up until dinner time, then go work on some more, and get up the next day, and utilize any time she had to finish her project?!?!?!?!?!

I just don't get that she didn't even *think* of doing this? This person IS way beyond the scope of SOH and I can't understand, STILL, or even more, why she got to stay.

Why was she not completing her work? To then go out and sell whatever she could, ON HER OWN, before Rhonda got there? Show *some* incentive, but I don't believe that lisa was born with incentive, she wasn't raised with any, that's for sure. I don't think she even knows the word. IMO

Then she is excited/happy when Jill tells her she found a 'business start up plan' on the internet, but when she receives the *very same thing*, printed out for her, from Rhonda, does she get so pissed? (I do have to admit I loved seeing her getting called on being prissy with her roomies and Rhonda, and watching her get angry....much more fun than watchng her fake tears.)
I'm with Rhonda all the way on this one, I'm voting for the anger!

Also, look at how she manipulated Allison's 'dad' by taking him aside and showing him the house and offering info on Allison. I was so proud of TJ when she marched in and said "This is Allison's time."

Yeah! "Allison is in need" (or something.... )

In confessional, TJ says, "Everytime a male enters the house lisa goes into 'flirting mode'. This was so right on, TJ!! That winking thing lisa kept doing while talking with allison's 'father'. WTH was THAT about? Made me wanna barf. Heh.
My mind is entering the 'do not post this thought in public zone', so I'll stop. <mmmppphmmpphmmm> <---hands over mouf!

That is the same for me! I just love the gal! More and more everyday. Perhaps if we lived together I may find something that would bother me, but so far, I have found her to be the best HG IMO!

yes i just re-watched that program and i mean she just lit into Lisa.
I would NOT want any counsellor who treatd me like that. Maybe its a good thing? SO is not returning...at least if they do, they need to make some serious changes, because how i saw Christina treated and now Lisa, its just not good therapy at all.

I agree, shaming as "therapy" is a no go for me. I was trying to
remember exactly when I started to "go off" Rhonda...this may
have been the beginning. She seemed to have very litte understanding of Lisa's insecurities, as if they just came to be out
of nowhere. I feel sorry for anyone who has so little faith in their
abilities...and IMO...ridicule would only serve to bolster the feeling of hopelessness.

after reading others thoughts on this, and after seeing yesterdays show, I am not feeling so sorry for Lisa now about the jewelery. it wasnt about having to make and sell all of it, but she had to make an effort. and she just didnt.
and ah, after getting in all that trouble, being nearly kicked out of the house, did I actualy hear her say yesterday, something like,
"I would rather buy jewelry than sell it any day"
so she ISNT getting it. I had not seen these episodes the first time around, and alhtough I knew how Lisa ended up, I wanted to give her a chance, i wanted to see something good in her being in the house. Here they are trying to help her learn that she can take care of herself and she just isnt getting it together.
No more feeling sorry for Lisa any more, from me.
