I too am distressed over how the adoptive mother has been treated. Last season Cassie talked about how she would have contact with the family while she was drunk. I imagine the decision was made then to have no more contact with her, and rightly so.

We only have Cassies side of the story so can not really judge the mothers actions.

I too agree that last year it was borderline stalking on Cassies and SO's part.

Can you imagine having your life aired on TV without your permission?

I completely agree with you. What a horrible thing to have happen to your family. It is very irresponsible on SO's part to keep pushing Cassie to find him and holding it like a carrot out in front of her. When she came BACK on the show I think she really thought they had worked it out for her to meet him. That's immoral - all done for ratings. I think it would not be amiss for the adoptive mother to sue SO over this. This is an example of reality t.v. going too far. When someone adopts a child they have a reasonable expectation to live as normal a life as possible -- and there is most likely some anxiety that the birth parents will at some point cause trouble, which is a shame in and of itself. To now have to be worried that some TV SHOW will use their clout and money to come after you just so they can have a Kleenex moment is beyond belief. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm about to kick this show to the curb!

After reading some of these posts, I wonder if we watched the same show? SO in no way tried to intrude on the adoptive family and son with cameras. The information was provided to the family confidentially. Their identify was never disclosed by the show.

I thought the attempts to confirm that the son knew he was adopted were handled very appropiately. Do you remember a season or 2 ago? I think the HG was named Susan and SO located her father that she had never met. SO explained who Susan was and that she wanted to meet him. He agreed. SO gave him the option to meet Susan on or off camera. He initally chose off camera, then later he went on camera. Those of you with better memories correct me if I'm off on any fact.

Cassie's son may never choose to have a relationship with her, but if that is his decision and not his adoptive mother's, then so be it. It is an individual decision.
He would be lucky if he did get to know her.

Cassie would never settle for one meeting. She's obsessive and manipulative.

And just how did she manage to get 3 months free rent after she was given finances to attend the nursing school of her choice? And.....correct me if I'm wrong....wasn't she given money to start her own business?

Cassie needs to find herself before she finds her son.

I might possibly agree that Cassie is obsessive, but, she is about as manipulative as a fly, in my opinion. I think if we were to put ourselves in her shoes, we just might be the same way, given we thought the adoption was "open".

Yea, I was pretty shocked too when she left the house yet again w/another make-over, AND rent for 3 months. I too thought she was given monies to start a new business, and go to school. I guess she probably could use all the help she can get at this point.

I do like Cassie, and I wish her all the best. I think she has come a long way from when we first saw her.

I was adopted into an entire family of ETOH abusers (on both sides). I see traits in Cassie that are easily discernable after living and dealing so long with them.

I actually like Cassie; however, those traits will always exist unless she seeks help in overcoming them.

I also think she can be an excellent friend to her son...I just hope that if she meets him soon, she's prepared for it.
