I enjoyed watching Lisa interact with her parents when they visited.
I had remembered seeing the "dynamic" of their relationship a bit differently...then I realized that came later, during the visit to Miami. I see them as a loving family, but "enmeshed."
Mom held her own on the basketball court though, didn't she? Put me to shame!
I liked that they saw some changes in Lisa...but thought that they did not show any awareness in their influence over her. However, the older generation did have a tendency to think that their kids
"just turned out that way!" Nothing to do with them!! They are perfectly nice people...who just don't get it. It's up to Lisa, of course...you can only do what you know...until you know something different, which is the real value of the SOH. (IMO)

i thought watchihg her with her parents was a hoot. her mom is pretty funny, and i actually think they are a like in many ways.

watching lisa the second time around, i'm feeling different about her. before i ebbed and flowed in my trust and understanding of her. now i feel as if she is what she is, and it's all there on the table. she bumbles around and back peddles, but there is also a genuine sense that she doesn't mean to, she just doesn't know any better. ignorantly nieve? does that describe her?
