While I can recall (vaguely!)...how, when you first met a guy that you liked, and hoped that he might like you as much...and you are gradually getting to know one another...and putting your best foot forward...letting out little intimate details about yourself in dribs and drabs, as you get more comfortable...I cannot IMAGINE what it would be like to have to share what Allison had to today, with her
"date." I really TRIED to imagine myself in that position, and my heart went out to her even more.
I have heard of long term spouses who are unable to deal with this situation...leaving behind women who are already wounded, in body and spirit.
In this oh-so-body-concious society, whether we like to admit it or not...men are visual beings, that's just the way it is. So, I can
understand why Allison has not pursued dating, she is realistic. I
hope she does find that special somone somewhere down the line.
After all she has been through, she deserves a little happiness.
