Was anyone else baffled by Allison yesterday, feeling so down, when she had her moment with the body language specialist? It was the BEST she looked so far!!!!! Her blue blouse was perfect with her red hair and her make up was perfect too!
I really understand, even more now, that we have to stop putting ourselves down in life. It's so ridiculous and untrue, for every one of us.

I think a good assignment for Allison, would be ask someone every time she's thinking a negative thought about herself, then write down the compliment the person will obviously give her in return. At the end of the day, she'll have a bunch of compliments to read. It would also tie into her issue of asking for help.

I think Allison has come so far, and she looks fabulous! And I felt she looked beautiful in the picture. But, for some reason she thinks she looked awful. I have felt that way at times. People will tell me I look pretty or something positive but, when I look in the mirror I feel awful. I don't always feel this way but, I have had this same issue.

But, it seems Allison has had this issue from day one. Even before she got cancer. Hopefully she can get pass this and see herself as others see her.

I have really enjoyed Allison from from day one also! And she has always been beautiful! Like Iyanla told her, she is a "stunning" looking woman. What I don't understand is how she can look at others (like Jill) and tell them they look nice, but not herself when she is obviously thinner? I struggle with this a lot. I am very overweight due to pregnancies, bedrest, meds, etc. but my friends will say I look pretty. At the same time, they rag on themselves for maybe the 10-15 pounds they need to lose when I obviously have 90-100 to lose? I think Allison falls into this category; and although I really do like her and she's a great person, she doesn't realize that her words can powerfully affect others! The LCs talking about how words are powerful is so true! I think if Allison doesn't think she looks pretty and thinks she is fat...what must she think about people my size? Yes, I know that's transference on my part that I have to work on, but constant complaining about your body brings negativity all around. I know we all have body image issues, but there is a time to make yourself come to some realizations and acknowledge your good points as well as areas you want to improve. I so applaud Allison, and she's my favorite so far; I just really hope she can see that she is truly a sweet and beautiful person inside and out!
