Starting Over Talk - Peer Coaching Support Site

Whenever I listened to Lynell talking to Stage on the phone I was stunned with the things he said, not allowing her to talk and his verbal abuse! I love my guy more than anything in this world but if he ever talked to me like that I would tell him, "Baby, the next thing you're gonna hear is the dial tone. I'm hanging up and I won't talk to you until you can show some R-E-S-P-E-C-T"!

After talking to some of my girlfriends I found that they have, and do, allow their husbands/boyfriends to treat them that way. This got me to thinking -- where would you draw the line? How many women here would listen to a man speak to them the way Stage talked to Lynell?

My husband and I have a great relationship. We are respectful to each other. He treats me the way he wants to be treated and I do the same. Lady J, I think there are alot of woman out there who are not as fortunate as us to have a man who can communicate as an adult.

I never did allow my ex to talk to me like that and because of that I am single. I think a lot of it comes down to people being afraid of being alone. It doesn't bother me either way.

I think it's ridiculous how Stage talks to Lynell. Everytime I saw them on the phone it made me really angry. I can't believe she would let him talk to her like that. He wouldn't even listen to her and would just talk right over her. He is so immature and she deserves so much better than him. I would definitely hang up on him. Maybe when he sees himself on tv he will realize how bad he talks to her. Hopefully he will change but I doubt it. She is better off being alone than allowing him to treat her that way.

I really wish that they would have allowed Lynnell the time to work on her relationship with Stage. She seems like she is willing to take the abuse just because she doesn't want to fail at marriage number 3. I think that he needs to go to counseling with her. He is in so much competition with Hailey. Maybe after seeing the show, seeing changes in Lynnell, and Hailey living with her Dad he will start to change himself.

I read somewhere that Lynell and Hailey live together in an apt....so Lynell must have left Stage and Hailey moved out of her dad's!
