What would that mean if she didn't fulfill conditions (restitution) of her conviction/judgement? Would jailtime be imminent? Sort of like revoked parole?

I don't know if it's a matter of not paying restitution whether any appeals at that point are even possible. I wouldn't think so... I would think she must have agreed to the restitution in an effort to have the charges reduced.. I don't think she had a jury trial..

How much did you pick up from that blurb you found.

I did some poking around trying to find some current info. Didn't find anything much but did find a blog/forum from 2006 where some transcript of what Towanda said happened.. Not sure if it's legit.. I don't see any reason someone would pretend to be her for purposes of the blog.. She tries to explain the situation...

It also looks like there is mention of her having done something similar when she lived in Md. Not sure if that is true..

But I thought it an interesting read.. especially if it could be true.

Was more than I'd seen in the past.. As I said, I don't know why anyone would fabricate the info in this blog...and would tend to find it plausible.

I'd still be interested in finding out how her case was resolved.. or if it's ongoing.. I don't think Iyanla was in the business of bailing people out of their own messes... I just think that maybe the situation Iyanla may be involved with is NOT related to Towanda..

But I could be wrong!

It also appears at the very bottom that the failure to pay restitution was entered by her probation officer.

I read that article KPW. If that is indeed Towanda's story. I don't buy it. I since her attorney's didn't think a jury would either and that's why she entered a plea.

I can understand that you may be desperate for money to feed your kids or keep your lights on and maybe she was desperate for money and just too embarrassed to admit it. I think she probably knew somethin was fishy about that check but took it anyway for some reason.

If she hasn't paid her restitution and that is part of her deal with the court, her probation officer can bring her back in and ask the judge to activate her orignial sentence and let her serve it. I mean to not have paid your restituion after all this time is just pathetic.

Iyanla's radio show is on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursday 10:00 Et in Philly. you can listen to it for free on the internet. I don't have the web address right offhand but if you check out Iyanla's website inner visions worldwide you should tbe able to link to it.

Iyanla still lives in the Maryland area but travels constantly. If any of you get a chance go to her Wonder Woman Weekend retreat - absolutely fabulous. She is so much more in person. TV was not a big enough media for her.
