Have you heard that Barry Manilow cancelled his appearance on The View because he says Elisabeth's views are dangerous?

Which view is he referring to; her opinion on Iraq, Bush, Gay marriage, what?

It seems as if Barry was on the show not too long ago when Rosie was hosting or did I dream that? LOL. It seems like he was on right after he had his hip surgery.

I wonder what Barbara thinks about this? I think Barbara likes Barry.

Yeah, I get the impression that if it is true, there is more to it than that.

When did he cancel? Elizabeth has been on there pretty much with the same views for quite some time.. He should have not accepted an invitation and then cancel.. I wonder if it is contractual..?

Maybe all this is in conjunction with Rosie's book coming out..
He may be backing out in support of Rosie in general... especially if there is some bad blood being exposed between Rosie and Barbara.. It's Barbara's show for the most part.. If he really really had a problem because of Elizabeth.. He might have been able to request that she not be part of the interview process.. or postpone and be scheduled when she was on maternity leave..

He's had his own health issues anyway... He's been on there before in the last year or 2.. (Since his hip replacement..)


I don't even know if this is true and when it allegedly happened.. Funny that Rosie's book is coming out in a couple weeks. I'm sure Rosie would love to drum up negative publicity about the View..

Zap to it is saying that he is slated to be on tomorrow. I haven't found anything about him cancelling. I did find this...

I'm sure it's more of a support for Rosie than anything else.. I mean they should be talking about his new album..

That's pretty insulting.. and unprofessional!

I happened to see something else at access hollywood.. Saying that Manilow lied... The View cancelled his appearance.

I know I've seen him before on the panel with Elizabeth.. and that this interview had been scheduled since July.. so there was plenty of time for him to make his stipulations.. and I don't blame them for refusing to cowtow to him.. (if that is indeed what happened)..

I'm sure Manilow doesn't interview all of the people that interview him... so he can weed out those who don't pass his muster..

I also saw that it was mentioned that Manilow and Rosie collaborated on a song (Don't go breaking my heart) and that it wasn't used on the album though.. He says it didn't fit with the theme of the others..

So more than anything.. I think it's just a dig at Elizabeth for his friend Rosie.

If they want diversity on that panel at the View then they shouldn't cowtow to anyone that isolates one member.

This link at Access Hollywood even show a picture of Manilow on a previous show at the View.. It says he's appeared twice with Elizabeth on the show..

I just think it's very unprofessional of him.. I plan to check out Rosie's site.. to see if she comments on the situation.

Rosie speaks cryptically as usual... but pretty much talks about her book and refusal to comment on it.. saying 'buy it yourself..'..
Sounds like it was written since the View bruhaha... I hope she doesn't regret writing it..
