Has anyone seen this? I saw part of it last week and it piqued my interest... I watched 2 half hour segments last night and I am both amazed and appauled!... This poor couple has 8 children under the age of 6. A pair of older twins..and a set of Sextuplets.. Last night it was clear to me that this women seems to really have a few screws loose.. Although if I were in similar cicumstances... I'd have to be committed! Kate is a germ phobic.. and probably lends toward having OCD tendencies.. She is a control freak...and all that is not good while trying to deal with 8 young ones.. She sweeps her kitchen floor 3 times a day.. and puts the kids one some sort of breathing machine for 30 minutes every afternoon before their naps.. I didn't pick up why... I don't think they were asthmatics.. but I got the feeling that it was something to ward off germs and keep them from getting sick... Can you imagine the house there when one child gets a stomache virus?

Anyone else see this show? I really like her husband but feel sorry for the guy! I got the impression that there was alot of hostility/resentment going on between the lines. Maybe that's to be expected with the circumstances... I just wouldn't be so eager to be part of a show like that.. Last night she was going to hire a cleaning person... But she was so ridiculous with her expectations that it was really sad. I think a couple of her kids beginning to pick up her tendencies..

I'm interested in discussing this more.. and see if I was off in my perceptions.

I didn't realize it before...but this show is in the regular lineup on the Discovery Health channel. It's apparently on tonight. It looks like the 2 episodes I saw last night on TLC are on tonight at Discovery Health in their regular time slot.. Here is a link to the episode guide..

Watched the show it was good, wow could never take care of 8 kids.

I wrote a long detailed post just now, but, lost it due to some problem with my server. Anyway, I saw the 2 documentaries on this family. The couple is very strange. They appear to be very unhappy in their marriage. I've seen many other multiple families on tv and most of the parents seem to be happy, Maybe that's an act for the cameras. But, this couple is really over stressed.

They were on Dr. Phil last week. He gave them free nanny service, counseling with the kids to help with rules of the house and some free toys. I think they should have gotten MARITAL counseling.

If they could afford it, I think they would certainly split up.

He always says she is a control freak, I didn't see the thing about the mopping and breathing device. Maybe that's why she has few volunteers with help.

The first documentary she kept saying that he blamed her for the multiple births. He says he didn't, but, I'm not so sure.

Although, they appear to love the kids, they don't seem to be happy with them. They complain more that most of the multiple birth parents. The kids seem to be pretty happy.

The thing the couple was complaining about on dr. Phil was the loud noise of all the kids in the house. They tended to fight over toys and not want to share.

I hope they get some help so they can regain some happiness in their marriage.

I would have liked to see that Dr. Phil show. I wonder at what point it had been taped..

I've wondered what would motivate someone to be so transparent (airing hostilities) on a show like this and I've also wondered if they deliberately exaggerate just to create interest and storyline.

But some of the things I saw... was that she was indeed a control freak... At one point they were going to go out for dinner and she was complaining that her husband took longer to get ready than she did and that it irritated her.. (I believe she may have even phrased it saying it "irritated the 'He double L' out of her. And it showed him walking in the room as it was being said.

When they were doing the on camera commentary pieces, she was pretty forthright with her criticisms of things he said and how he said them.. The poor guy probably feels like he can't do anything right?

Having sextuplets are stressful enough and a pair of twins on top of that.. without the control issues and phobias.. I couldn't believe that she'd go behind someone to check for dust in nooks and crannies amidst all that chaos. I would be greatful if someone just did nuts and bolts cleaning and picking up. She was being very unrealistic given the circumstances. Who would want to work for someone like that.

I'll see if it's going to be on TLC this week and see if my opinion changes? I really saw the dad trying his best to pull his weight. He was honest about being glad that he had a job to go to to get away from the daily struggle of dealing with 8 young children.

I think it's a regular show on Discovery health.. I can only imagine that they are putting themselves out like this just to help make ends meet. Who knows between shots, the camera people may actually be able to pitch in with diapers.

Nanny help would be a good thing to have... That way she could clean till her hearts content! It's really about her needing to make priorities..

I looked for a forum where some discussion about this show might exist, but I didn't find it. If anyone sees one a bit more in depth than this thread, let me know. Having only seen 2 episodes, I'm probably not caught up with all the facts and I'm sure the dad has his flaws too!

It could be that if she had tendencies to be a clean freak and germ phobic that the stress and number of children have just caused it to be worse. Maybe she needs some OCD meds!
