kid's education 3 Years, 9 Months ago
For those of you with kids, what is your goals for your children's education?

One goal for my kids is that they think for themselves, and do not need to be spoon fed their education.

My oldest son came up with these the other day. The sentence usually starts, Mom, why do they call it ...

Sundown, sunrise-He says the sun doesn't move, the earth does. It should be called earthdown and earthrise.

toothbrush-you don't brush one tooth, it should be called teethbrush.

Sunday, as a weekend day-Sunday is the beginning of the week. It should be called the weekstart day.

just had to share

here is the one that still stumps me. I asked my dad why is it that we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway?

The goal for education for my kids is for them to ask questions and if something doesn't make sense ask up.
I want my youngest to have an independent life. I don't know what her outcomes will be but I can hope for teh best.

Those are so funny. Kids are incredible. They sat the most insightful things. When my daughter (now in her 4th year of college) was in elementary school, we were going to open house, as we arrived at the school and were greeted by the principal, she politely questioned "Why is this called OPEN HOUSE, it should be called OPEN SCHOOL! She's brilliant I was a foster parent for 10 years, I could write a page on the funny things kids say, but I think it's already been done. You all take good care of yourselves.

welcome payenanny to the boards! Yes, your daughter is a genius!

About writing down all the things kids say, do it. It's neat to have a record, and to show the list to their kids, your grandkids!!

Hi hsmom
You are sooooo right about writing the sweet and cute things our children say when t hey are young... I wrote in my children’s books when they were infants like the first word or full sentence they said. My middle child who is now a first time mom has seen her book many times, and she too is writing everything special my grandsons says and when.
I still remember her first sentence "The doggy stepped in duh puddle" She thought it was the funniest thing she had ever seen..
She laughed for the longest time.
A memory is always a gift to your children and grandchildren
Just wait till I start showing my grandkids their parents school workbooks and art from the first year t hey started JK., through to report cards all the way through high school. :_b_link__:
Sure my kids are not going to want the kiddies to see some of their old marks
Hugs
