The Board of Review begins and Brenda steps up to the podium and gives herself an A- for her efforts so far. The life coaches tell her she has done a tremendous job and has a good job and they give her an A. Kimberlyn is the next to be reviewed. Kimberlyn has a tough time coming up with one thing she could work on in the house and says she is at the “Mecca” right now. Kimberlyn says if there was a grade higher than A, she would give herself that grade and the women clap. Rhonda explains that they agree she has done well with achieving her goal of learning how to drive; however, her time in the house has been rocky. They remind her that they wanted her to start to reach out to the women in the house. They also tell her she has not been very accountable either of them. Rana explains that Kimberlyn informed her that she would be cutting it close, but would be on time for the meeting with Dr. Jaffe, but she ended up being an hour late and did not call Rana Rhonda to let them know she was running late. Kimberlyn tries to defend herself by saying she did call, but she got a voice mail. Rhonda interjects saying since she didn’t leave a message. They do not consider the phone call proper “communication” because she didn’t leave a voice mail.
Rhonda says they congratulate her for getting her license, but they are giving her a C grade and asking her to leave the house, without a graduation ceremony. A car will pick her up this evening. Rana asks if the women have anything they want to say and Audrey says she is shocked, but realizes that Kimberlyn’s accountability has not been good. Teresa says she knows how hard Kimberlyn has worked and she is sad to see her go. When Rana asks Kimberlyn what’s going through her head, she just apologizes to the group and wishes them well. In confessional, she says she feels betrayed by this unexpected event.
Rhonda explains to the women that this house is built on commitments and communication. While the women are sad to see Kimberlyn go, they understand why Rhonda and Rana had to take a stance. This incident serves as a reality check for the women who are left. Rhonda and Ran hope they never have to dismiss someone again.
As a parting gift, Teresa gives Kimberlyn a bottle of wine and jokes that she needs it more than Teresa does.
Audrey is disappointed in Kimberlyn and her actions, because all Kimberlyn had to do was leave a message. As she leaves, Kimberlyn says she is happy to have accomplished her goal. Teresa is the only one who says goodbye to Kimberlyn as she pulls out of the driveway. She notes that six women cannot live in a house without rules and the rules actually help them get along as well as they do. Unfortunately, Kimberlyn didn’t take those rules as seriously as they did.
