[i]THANKS for knowing I am not the only SOT Member that does it! ha!
I also know that it causes other medical issues.... yes, one being that you wear down your teeth. I have worn down many of my teeth from doing it for so long. Amanda I think you mentioned the 'EYE' teeth, yes both of mine are worn- no longer pointed. (We were given them to 'tear' into food...!)

The thing that really bothers me is that I do it in the DAYTIME and CANNOT seem to get control of it and STOP! I sometimes bite on something to keep my teeth from being ABLE to do it. You know like a pencil.

I know about the TMJ & the Mouth Guard... the guard is very expensive! And YES, I do have Severe Headaches & MIGRAINES! That is why I want so bad to STOP.

OK....

Outta here....

I used to grind my teeth in my sleep and at the same time I would have a dream that my teeth were falling out. It was the scariest dream ever. I ended up buying a failry cheap mouth guard at CVS or Walgreens. I'm pretty sure that you can getting one that are for sports pretty cheap too. My teeth grinding stopped one I treated my anxiety.

I never did it during the day though. I either bit my nails or ate instead...lol

Have you tried chewing gum?

Thanks Tara for your input... I didn't know that you could use that type of mouthguard to sleep with.... you know the sports one you mentioned. I WOULD GAG! It's bad enough I have mild sleep apnea and when I came back for that big gasp of air -- I would probably half swallow that thing! THE GUARD THING!

I have tried the chewing gum, too. I get so much pressure from the grinding already & the many headaches I have that chewing aggravates it.

That's ODD it doesn't seem to aggravate when EATING THOUGH!

HANDLE IT... I keep telling myself!

Hi There!

If you are grinding your teeth, I would recommend checking out TotalGard's night guards. They are affordable and should meet your budget as you mentioned. They will also work for when you sleep at night.
