I've heard a lot about it. I'm curious if she really said she thought Barbara should retire now. We'll see. I heard she said Barbara was jealous of her on the show because during the commercial breaks, audience members would yell to Rosie that they loved her and Barbara would scold them like a child and tell them it was rude to say that to one member of the panel and not the rest. LOL.
She also is supposed to have said that she and Barbara didn't get along and it wasn't one big happy family as Barbara suggested. Well, I think she's probably telling the truth. It's hard for me to hold that against Rosie. The truth is the truth, even if it comes off as cold and rude. LOL.
What I did hear that was so disturbing are the stories Rosie tells about her childhood. They are so bizarre that it made me wonder what in the world happened to her as a child. I now believe she was really messed up and still is. I think her childhood does explain it. She says as a child she would use a hammer to break bones in her body, usually her fingers or hands. She did this intentionally because she said she wanted reassurance that she was worth fixing. Can you believe this?
She said that she liked having a cast on her her arm as a child because she believed she could use it as a weapon if she needed one in the middle of the night. Is this bizarre or what?
I will be reading the book to see if all these stories are true. I then can make my own mind up. I am a Rosie fan, but I think she may have really lost it.

Post edited by: Debby, at: 2007/09/14 11:05

Seems Baba reprimanded Sherri... Whoppie reprimanded Elizabeth... Whoppie was low key with her reprimand, but persistent re Monica comment.
I noticed that. Elisabeth has no patience for Bill Clinton. If for other reason the adultery. She hates adultery big time. She will never let that go. Joy also makes a lot of jokes about it.
I think it's also the fact that she is one die hard Republican... and on The View sees it as her duty to defend the Republican position or knock any and all Democrats.
LOL... somehow she got an invite to the White House this year... LOL... I guess they appreciate her efforts.

I do think something is going on with her...
I never heard about her tendency to self mutilate.. That can be a cry for attention. I thought she used to mourn her mother's death as most people could understand.
If she's coming out saying these kinds of things, then maybe she's still seeking that gratification for attention..
She obviously has some self esteem issues and over compensates by being aggressive. Maybe that is just a defense mechanism..
I don't know if she's actually schizophrenic, paranoid or narcisstic.. or just dealing with deep seated depression which she has alluded to. Most people with depression would tend to isolate though..(I'm thinking in general terms) and not lash out the way she tends to do.
I do hope she is getting some sort of therapy.. It can't get any better and can only cause her other health issues and problems from the stress of it all.. if she can't bring closure to some of these issues that bring her pain. Her kids, just like any other family with someone dealing with 'issues' will reap the repercussions of having to witness extreme moods on a regular basis. If she can't control it in public, I expect that she has some control issues at home too.
I didn't know about the book and wonder if she wrote it over the summer and perhaps out of anger.. She only left the show in June I think or mid to late May.

I agree KPW. If she can't control it in public, then she is not likely to do it at home, however, I always got the impression that while Kelly is more feminine looking than Rosie, IMO, she wears the pants in the famiily. Kelly sets the rules and runs the show. So maybe Rosie is not allowed to act out at home and around the kids. It's hard to know the dynamics of someone's private life behind closed doors.
Did you see Kelly's mother on The View when Rosie was on? She is a very loud, pushy but loving, southern lady. From the stories told about her and what I saw myself, I would find it difficult to believe she was allow her grandkids to be subjected to harm. You never know though. I can see her kicking Rosie's butt. Really.

Shame... she has so much to be grateful for.
ET had a blurb about mention of Joy in Rosie's book... surprise... LOL... comments don't appear to be too flattering.
It's never a good idea to make enemies... especially with the Baba's of the world.

This is true, but it's like Joy said about Barbara's book last week (Barbara is writing her autobiography), if your book is all sweet and saying nice things about people, nobody will want to buy it. LOL. I mean who would believe a book written by Rosie that wasn't a bit caustic? LOL
