So did any of the 8 posters here see the performance? It was so bad and so sad. Bad weave, bad or no lipsync, no dancing. Even though it didn't seem possible, she has sunk even lower. I really worry about her harming herself over this. It was really sad. You could see on her face that she knew she made a mistake doing this. She needs to take her millions and go retire for a long time and get it together. They are going to crucify her for this.

I only saw a news clip of it last night.. I just read an article at yahoo about it..and saw some of the comments by her fellow artists.. Doesn't sound like many of them were very supportive.

The clip I did see, looked embarrassing.. I hope when she does a double take when she sees her own performance on tape and figures out what direction she wants to go.. Maybe she should concentrate on her parenting for awhile..

The clip reminded me of a star who has passed their prime and comes back to the stage very different looking.. She really should have chosen something that covered her up more. She doesn't have the figure or moves she once did. Maybe its' time for her to change her image a bit.. (alot of 'bit'!)

I'm not sure but I think the yahoo article made it sound like the song she sang was prerecorded. So I guess that may mean 'lipsynching'.. is now the norm on some of these shows.. they may just prefer to call it something else..

I just watched it on YouTube. She looked like she was going through the dance steps only - no energy, no enthusiasm, no having fun like she use to.... she looked more dazed. When she walked around, she simply walked... no strut, not energry, no smile, no sassy looks.... like she was walking to the store. Yes I agree she's a mother of 2 and not that little post teen years- she simply can not pull off outfits like that.

I told my DH that the only reason why MTV would allow her to perform was to get a buzz... even if she bombed- they would be the talk. Sad really and if she behaves likes she has been.. she won't see it.

Yahoo had an AP piece about the nights program..

Ouch!

I meant to mention on my last post... that it wasn't too long ago that professional musicians were hung out to dry if they were caught lip synching! It was considered very unprofessional.. But now it seems to be more acceptable...

I guess it depends on if they are trying to be singers or entertainers. Also I noticed that if the artist didn't sound as good as the recording, some fansseem to feel cheated. That's the bad thing about digitally "improving" voice and background. Brit has always had elaborate dance move that would have hampered singing.

Personally get rid of the alterations and give me the singer... I could care less how well they dance while they lip synch.

I didn't see her last night because I kinda thought it might be bad and I really didn't care to watch her make a fool of herself. I did catch a peek of it today. It was rather pathetic.

It looked to me as if all the performers were lip synching. The parts I saw appeared very unprofessional. It looked like a talent search show on a local station at the mall.

I saw them mention Kid Rock and couldn't figure out what they meant. Then I heard Perez Hilton say that he and Tommy Lee got into a fight in the auditorium over Pam. LOL. Too bizarre. He said one of them was arrested and the other on the run.

Perez was critical of Britney because he has questioned for days why she was not practicing but instead partying all over town every night right up until the performance. Good question.

I think the issue of mental illness is now more in my mind than ever with Britney. When a person goes on a disaster course that pits them in discord with their business associates, husband, mother, fans, etc. There is something really wrong, mental illness or substance abuse, IMO. I just hope it is not bad enough to endanger the life of her children, because it appears that nobody is going to intercede and protect them.

Post edited by: Debby, at: 2007/09/10 12:04
