Didn't see the show...but thought I would mention hearing that Elizabeth's baby was born on Friday. They had a baby boy. I think they announced a name but I missed it..

Mother and son are supposedly doing well..

Anyone catch The View yesterday?

Laura Ingrahm (sp?) was a guest host. The political discussions were more than interesting. I love listening to opposing opinions when the participants behave in a civilized manner. It did get heated at one point, and I must commend Whoopie's handling of the situation... she spoke in a soft assertive and very effective way that got the discussion back on track. Laura is a very aggressive die hard Republican. She had some good points, but did get carried away at one point, however, it made for a very stimulating discussion.

I was thinking about how Rosie would behave in a similar situation, and I could see her leaping across the desk to scratch Laura's eyes out. LOL.

You're probably right about Rosie, God bless her, I love her, but she was quite a handful on some issues. LOL.

I missed the show you are discribing, which is rare. I usually watch everyday. I had a recording problem that day.

I heard about Elisabeth's baby. I wish she would send photos.

I agree. I am fast forwarding through the Hot Topics more and more often. I used to never do that. The conversation during the Hot Topics is just not very good in my opinion. I'm not sure what it is. I like everybody just fine, but something is off.

I like the hot topics and the show in general when Barbara is on... Whoppi is still too inexperienced to host show without her. I also agree that the show is off... when Barbara is not there.

who truely picks out the hot topics list. I think Rosie at one point said she would love to discuss something but wasn't allowed to. It seems like they are trying to get a balance going. When Rosie was in the panel... there was no balance- she bulldozed her opinions right over everyone... you either agreed with her or you got targeted by her.

I do miss the heated debates but don't miss the hurtful tactics Rosie loves to employ.

I love listening to Whoopies opinions, you don't have to agree with her but the way she is assertive without aggression, open minded enough to hear what the others are saying, wise enough not to think herself as the only right one, and the fact that even if she doesn't agree... she's respectful of the other person's rights to have their opinions. That is the type of person to have an intelligent conversation with.

I don't like to talk to someone who's an aggressive drama queen of politics - though it can be entertaining sorta like a Nascar is (it's disappointing if a car doesn't spin out of control and flip a few times or catch on fire)... just doesn't stay fun when people start getting hurt because of it.
