Crazy, Sexy Cancer 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Have any of you seen this documentary on TLC. I think it may come on Lifetime too. It's been airing for awhile but I just saw it recently. It is sooooo inspirational and funny. I know the _title_ sounds funny, but if you get the chance check it out.

It not only follows the journey of the writer, directory Chris Carr as she deals with cancer, but she also focuses on other women she knows who are surviving cancer. I highly recommend it.

I saw the show... it was wonderful.

I believe in the nutritional information that was discussed in the documentary... the show was extremely inspirational... it really is a must see... so filled with hope.

I know it sounds crazy, but I'm thinking about looking into some of the diets she went on. I think it would be helpful to boost my immune system in light of my diabetes. I have Type I and they are theories that it may be brought on when something attacks your pancreas and you can't fight it off. It destroyes the pancreas' ability to make insulin anymore. That' just one theory. If I don't increase my immunity, I may suffer from other problems, God forbid.

Anyway, the diets she went on seemed just horrible, but perhaps I could try it for awhile. I wonder if she continued on those nutritional programs.
I googled, but couldn't find any updated info on her condition. I hope it's good news.

What type of cancer does she have?

I caught part of the show last week... What I saw was her (or some young adult woman) going to the doctor with her family and getting a great and optimistic report. I only caught about 5 minutes of it... It may have been focusing on someone else's outcome.. or journey.

She has a very rare kind of cancer. It's a long name that I can't pronounce or spell. It is slow growing to the point that they are hopeful it will never grown enough to hurt her, but it is a type of cancer that really can't be treated. It consist of 14 tumors that are all over her insides located on or near her liver and other organs.

They keep hoping they don't grow any larger. Her parents went with her to all of visits where the doctor gives his prognoisis.

Because she was doing so well, they moved her checkup dates to one year apart. I always worry about that. It would seem to me very risky to move it out so far apart, But, I guess in her case, even if they knew the tumors were growing, there would be nothing they could do. Apparently they are not operable.

It really is an uplifting story. Catch it if you can. I will definitely watch it again.

I googled the Hippocrates Health Institute... that was the place she went to in Florida.

I think she mentioned something about a raw food diet... which may be difficult to be on for a long period of time. But, I think it would be interesting to incorporate some into a healthy diet. I was interested in the wheat grass juice and discussion of nutrition.

I just recently tried broccoli sprouts... very healthy... not very tasty... LOL... kind of bitter.
