But is it really 'our' Iyanla?
Iyanla's birth name 'believe it or not' was Rhonda according to one e-article I wrote that was her biography..
Just found a new blurb bio... (although a bit dated)

I think another link to a more updated bio is somewhere in the archives.
I think it is possible that Rhonda chose the name Iyanla (when she became a Yoruba (sp?) princess so maybe there are othe women named Iyanla as well.. According to a couple places I've seen it means "great mother"...
A quick internet search doesn't reveal other Iyanla's... and maybe this is her famous recipe!
Interesting find...off topic.. but related to Iyanla!
Wikipedia is listing her as playing a characters mother in some movie or project that is still in production.. Apparently it was begun in 2006..So maybe it will never hit the screen..
The project is titled 'The Last Stand' in post production.. Maybe I'll do a search on that project..It may be a small bit role.. Sounds like she is playing 'Cheryl's mother'..
But interesting that she is pursuing other venues professionally. Or maybe they sought her out! Paula Deen was recruited to perform in a movie a year or 2 ago.. I guess they look for certain personalities that will ring true to viewers..
Here is the wikipedia link..
