Was the RV episode taped before the arrest. I hope so. If not, it will leave most of the driving up to Amy and the twins. Good Grief that would be an experience. LOL.

I checked out the TLC board. From what I saw, most of the viewers are quite disturbed by this arrest. It seems they are not waiting to see what the court says, but have made their own mind up already.

It seems they are also disappointed that the children's disrespectful attitudes are tolerated and that the lack of any discipline, including household chores are nonexistent. They also don't like the divided front Amy and Matt seem to display.

I only read a portion of the posts, but I didn't see anything of support. It kinda makes you wonder. I agree with them and with you to a certain extent. Those kids and Amy have gotten on my last nerve. I'm more tolerant of Matt than most.

I do think the show could turn aroumd if the family is willing to learn that change might be good and get some real help.

I don't think the show did this to them. I think it's how they were before they ever went on a program. I think the grandparents are not on as much because of embarrassment of the family's conduct and the condition of the house. They may come from the old school.
My dad always told me that the way you keep your house is reflective of what you think of yourself. I thought he was nutty. Now, I'm not so sure.

I think the DUI happened in June sometime.. so they may have already been on their vacation and back. Not sure about schools out there.. They may have been done in May sometime.. I know when the previous season ended in June they showed a bit of the clip..

Did you look at the clip? The kids looked like they were wild in that thing! Hopefully not while he was driving it!

I recall seeing one blurb saying his court date wasn't until October or November... That seems a bit long.. Now no date is mentioned.

Wikipedia mentions that he had another DUI in 2003... was convicted of that but that it was expunged (?) (is that the right term) after doing some sort of classes for 16 weeks or so..

I don't think they'd be so lenient with a second offense..

I've noticed his business buddy Mike was on alot this last year.. When they went to Las Vegas and Mike stayed with the kids.. I thought he was one brave guy!

On top of the farm accident, he coached one of the kids soccer teams, babysat and also was the heavy labor guy on the kits that he and Matt sell to hotels.. I wonder if he is reaching his patience level..

I wouldn't be surprised if with all the new programming that TLC has, and the criticism of the Roloff's that the TLC site is generating that TLC pulls the show.

No, I haven't seen any of the new clips.

I did wonder why Mike seemed to take such a big role in the family. He seems to be a straight shooter and the kids seem to respect him. He most be single because when he got hurt by the Pumpkin thrower, Amy said he stayed at their house and they took care of him when he came home from the hospital since he didn't have any family. I thought that sounded really sad.

It may sound bad, but I definitely think that they will air the shows already taped for selfish reasons. Even though the arrest is bad publicity, it may still generate interest in people watching. If nothing else people will watch to see if he is drinking too much.

You know that guy that host Extreme Makeover Home Edition? Ty Pennington I think is his name or something like that. He got a DUI recently, admitted he made a mistake and moved right along. I don't think he got any flack from anyone. I don't think it has hurt his career on tv at all. So, we'll see if Matt is so lucky.

I think with all of Matt's lectures.. about lessons in life that he might come across as a hypocrit..

The website is full of clips with Matt espounding on one thing or another.. Even in the show he's always putting himself out there as a fountain of wisdom about raising kids and business endeavors.

Ty at least admitted he made a mistake.. Matt pled innocent.. Ty hosts a show where he helps others.. and his personal life is totally separate from the show.

Of course with his small stature, it might take less to affect him.. Him refusing to take the breathalyzer test though is not going to win him any cooperation points. What message does that send to his sons?

Not sure if Ty's was a repeat offense or not.. But Matt's apparently is..
