Well............guess I'm glad I missed the kufuffle!!! Although I do have strong opinions (I know..........shocked, aren't ya!!! ) I am respectful of everyone's opinions and can definitely hold a two-way conversation!!!!

Debby..........the only live show on daytime that stays fairly constant is Live with Regis and Kelly...........which I love!!!! I tivo it and then have the power of the fast forward if I'm not interested in something!!! I know whatcha mean about all the repeats...........BTW.........when are all the new Fall shows starting??? I can't wait!!

Grizz, I hope you are having a fabulous time on vacation!! Check that radiator coolant!

I do tape Regis and Kelly. I guess they will be the only live daytime show for a while.

The problem with the new season is that it will last about 2 months it seems and then we're back to repeats again. It seems the new seasons get shorter and shorter.

Lauren, I agree with you about Al's Roker's wife co-hosting the View. She was good but, I have my doubts about them wanting any more mature women. They say that they will continue to interview women to fill that spot even after Rosie comes aboard, so that there will still be an open seat in September. I speculate that either Joy or Elisabeth will not return. I've detailed those reasons in the other View thread.

I would love to see Gayle King, and/or Iyanla replace Starr. I would love to see Lisa Ling return. Meredith will be missed. Elisabeth is sweet, but unfortunately has tunnel vision... she can only see one point of view... hers. I am not a Joy or Rosie fan, but I will tune in to check out how this team clicks. Good luck Barbara... hope you find the right mix. LOL

It will be interesting to see the NEW "View" on Friday. If Barbara does decide to choose another "Young One", I hope that she chooses one similar to Lisa Ling. I too really liked Lisa on the show. Unlike Elizabeth, Lisa was very intelligent and informed. Lisa could present an Open Point of View from the perspective of a younger person. But, I am still rooting for Gayle King.

Meredith Viera Calls The View A Joke

Time Magazine
August 28, 2006

TIME MAGAZINE:
Let's talk about The View for a moment. Were you tired of it?

MEREDITH VIERA:
Not tired, but I'd been doing it for nine years. The positive side was that it was like a wonderful, comfortable pair of slippers. But you can become so blasé.

TIME MAGAZINE:
Have you been watching since you left--and what did you think of Star Jones Reynolds' leaving?

MEREDITH VIERA:
I didn't watch at all. I needed to think ahead. But I have to admit, the day after Star made her announcement, I watched. I feel very sad for everything that's happened and for everybody involved. I'm proud of the work we did there, but it's not a good time in the history of that show. It's hard to watch. It sort of became a joke.
