The Trump is pretty greedy...trying to get publicity for himself out of all of this. NOW he's calling Elisabeth stupid. He cannot help himself. He thinks everybody is stupid...Martha Stewart, Rosie, Barbara, and now Elisabeth.
Did you see the show on Monday? It was prerecorded and on Elisabeth's birthday. Rosie gave her and her family a week at her Florida house..without Rosie being there of course.
I wonder if the invite is still open....LOL.
I am just sick over this. What am I going to watch? Any suggestions? It's my little therapy session when I get off work everyday. It used to be SO, sigh......

You know I have been such a Rosie supporter from Day 1, because I always loved Rosie from her old talk show. Anyway, I was disappointed yesterday to hear her say that she always felt like a foster child at The View and that she was never considered a real part of the family. That may be how she felt, but I certainly don't think it looked that way.
I think they indulged her very generously. I don't think any other panelist would have been allowed the rope that was given to her. It made me think that she really does have personal conflict coping skill problems. I also wonder who is in her life that is not the "yes" person. I always thought that Kelly was the head of the household. Now I'm not so sure. Too many "yes" people in a rich persons life seems to create caos.
I hope she gets some help with problem solving and people skills before she gets another show.
I also think Elisabeth has serious insecurity issues that cause obsessiveness with her.

I was reading on another forum where they were talking about Rosie blaming Columbine to giving her PTSD.. something to that affect. Many people just seemed to think she was trying to play up the victim role.. I'm not quite sure when or if she ever said that. I know she has implied that she suffers depression. Her blog is quite odd at times...
I'm sure using the the analogy of a foster child is also a way of perhaps her expressing her feelings of never having fit in and laying a foundation for people to feel sorry for her even more. Especially her fan base.
I think maybe she should take some much needed rest from any show to regain some perspective and get some counseling. Her anger is very apparent. I do feel like she may be dealing with depression.. or hormonal issues.. and is lashing out in anyway she can.

Yes, she had been complaining of menopausal symptoms since coming to The View. From what I hear that can cause you to act like a crazy person. I guess a woman in a menopause and a pregnant woman in conflict is a hormonal recipe for disaster. LOL.
Rosie has said on many occassions that she suffered from depression for years and just stayed in denial. It wasn't until Columbine that she went deep into it, to the point she could not get out of bed. She was totally disfunctional. She said being upset or sad would be a normal reaction but she knew things were way off with her when she went that deep down hill. It was then she sought help.
It took awhile but they convinced her that medication might be a good option for her. She says it took awhile to get the dose right, but it saved her life. She refuses to say what she takes because she says it's like an eye glass prescription and everybody is different.
I don't really think that she blames Columbine for her depression, it just that it was the straw that broke the camel's back.
She has described the devastation of losing her mother to cancer when she was a child. She says her father was emotionally unavailable and they never discussed the death afterwards. She felt very abandoned and I think when she feels hurt emotionally she goes back to the pain she felt as a child. I also think that's why she tries to help so many children't charities. However, I am no expert in those matters, Just my opinion.

Rosie has been very vocal about her depression and how Columbine sent her "over the edge". She has also mentioned that she does regularly see a counselor. I suspect she still has some really dark days.
I read her blog weekly and from what I can get from it is that she was hurt that Elisabeth, who she considered a friend, wouldn't defend the fact that Rosie did not call the troops terrorists, but in fact was calling our administration terrorists. She was asking Elisabeth on Wednesday's show if she in fact called our troops terrorists and Elisabeth wouldn't answer the question. I think Rosie was confused as to why people would assume she has "turned" on the troops who she has done so much to help.
I think alot of times our hurt comes out as anger when we don't know how to be vulnerable and I think this is the case. Add in all the hormones from pregnancy and menopause and you have a very heated confrontation.

From the clips I've seen, I don't think Elisabeth went ballistic until Rosie called her a 'coward'.. Rosie has gone off on Elisabeth several times this past year and particularly the last couple of months.
I thought the news shows jumped to their own conclusions regarding Rosie's comments. Why was it Elisabeth's responsibility to interpret what Rosie meant.
I for one feel that had 9/11 never happened neither war would have either.. 9/11 made everyone much more sensitive to the games that Saddam (and Iraq) had been playing since the early 90's... and his taunting ways.. I don't think anyone wants war... But we are in the mess and we can't just create a vacuum if we pull out.. Hindsight is always 20/20...
I will also say though... that there were definitely some terrorists among our troops! Those who abused their authority (Abu Gharib), or who covered up other crimes. I especially was horrified to find out about the young girl who was raped and burned and her family murdered. In retaliation, some of the Iraqi community did kidnap and murder a couple of servicemen from the same unit that was involved even though they had nothing to do with the original crime. It was guilt by association..
The show really should have pulled the plug.. rather than exacerbating it by showing the split screen and allowing it to continue for entertainment purposes. I'm not sure if the show is live or taped earlier in the morning.. I know some days they tape more than one show..

Post edited by: KPW1956, at: 2007/05/31 16:49
