Who know why things happen the way they do? Perhaps your experience of having been separated from your real parents was in itself a blessing... and God put you where you needed to be to mature... and to pass some form of blessing on. Maybe your mom has finally seen the compassion and forgiveness you've shown her and it has drawn her to the 'Light'...

Thanks for encouraging us to never give up on some of those relationships. I have 2 very difficult sibling relationships... One where some mental illness is an issue and another who is an alcoholic..
