TOPIC: Paris Hilton released from jail
#74416
Paris Hilton released from jail 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 1
Just heard this on the View...

Sounds like they released her because of medical issues and she was reassigned. Sounds like she has been put on house arrest now instead.

Maybe they thought she was having a mental breakdown.. Or someone was being a softy and feeling sorry for her.. Maybe the court system was threatened with a lawsuit.. Who knows... I was very surprised though... She lasted almost a whole 3 days..

I'm sure more info may be forthcoming as to why the medical release.

She's supose to be wearing an ankle brac and "confined" to her home for 40 days.......
Yeah, ok I'm a believer in our system

What would happen if it was you or I who did these things? We certainly wouldn't be on the comps right now.

Our Government needs to take a look at what "Hollywood" is really doing and make it fair that if we do something wrong we pay for it.....why shouldn't they? And I know the answere to what many are going to say........money.......

I think it is so sad that our country has been divided between the rich and the poor, first money now the judicial system. The reports are saying that they can't disclose what her medical condition is, but I can guess one thing "withdrawls". I think whatever it is is a poor excuse, there are people who don't go out at night to party and the next minute the medical reason is the main problem for a rich alcoholic drug user is being released. Heck probably 80percent of the prison/jail population have far more serious medical reasons,so why aren't they released? (if not a danger to society)

Yeah, somebody's got some 'splainin' to do...

I know there have been some saying that the punishment didn't fit the crime in the first place... But hey, you can't just go willy nilly changing your mind after you impose a sentence. It was already reduced once..

They are caving for some reason.

House arrest for a person who lives in a luxurious mansion hardly seems like punishment. She can afford to have the parties come to her! Enjoy her margaritas while floating in her pool and working on her tan...

Ludicrous..

I knew it. If you check my post under the Paris Hilton thread I posted on 5/8/2007 para 4, that I predicted she would get sick and try not to do her time. I was wrong though, because I said the jail has a doctor on staff and they keep you there anyway. I forgot that this was Princess Paris. LOL.

What a joke. How that county retains any respect for themself is unreal. Robert Downey, Jr. eventually had to do his time as did Martha Stewart.

I don't know what her illness is, but if it's mental, she should be in a mental hospital that she can't check out of. In my state, in house time in a rehab clinic is counted as jail time, but you cannot leave the premises for any reason.

My new prediction is that she will figure a way to get the ankle monitor off and go out of the house. She will then make up a story that she was told by somebody who works in the jail that it was okay to do it and then it starts over again.

I don't think she realizes that by leaving the jail this way, she really makes people dislike her even more. I think the cheers for her are going to turn to jeers.

I don't think the public dislikes her because of her money, but because of her prima dona attitude. People don't hate Bill Gates, Oprah, Michael Jordon, etc. because they are rich, it's just the jerks that people dislike who are rich and flaunt their ignorance and feelings of supeiority.

This whole thing is just crazy. She should have just paid her fines and accepted responsibility to begin with and moved on. This is costing all of us tax payers money. I bet part of the reason they released her is because if was costing extra money to keep her in there. I'm sure they needed extra security inside and outside of the jail. Having in in jail was more of burden to the system than having her out. I'm sure she also had a whole entourage of staff that were making things very hard on the system too.
