Starting Over Talk - Peer Coaching Support Site

Tried to find my first post in 2004 about joining a church. I brought up the point and discussion about if it is biblical to be a member of a local church. "be of fellowship, one with another".

Well, after much searching and praying, we have offically joined a church again!

I am not saying you have to be a member of a church to be a Christian. What I am saying is a part of me that was lacking, feels whole again. Not for the fellowship, not for the programs. For the closeness, for the worship, for the way it has brought our family closer together, and a closer relationship to God.

All I can say is PRAISE THE LORD!!!

I'm glad you have been able to find somewhere that your family can be encouraged and you can be an encouragement. Alot can be said for the 'one anothers'... (Love one another, forgive one another, encourage one another..etc....)

My hubby and I are teaching 3rd and 4th graders... and talking about 'the church'.. Why it was formed, how it was formed and what kind of relationships are expected... One of the emphasis from the bible that this age group was given .. is that a church is 'family'... Believers are united in their common faith.. and we become brothers and sisters, and children of God..

Happy Resurrection Day!!

I feel very blessed to have a church home to celebrate the most important day on the calendar to a Christian.

Now my husband thinks it was the wrong decision to join this church. He works with some of the members, and sees a completely different side to them. I remind him that no one is perfect, least of which is him or I!! I hope he gives this a chance.

I think church as like volunteer work,it makes your heart feel good. I stopped going to church a good while back, but a couple years ago, I went back. I had this feeling of peace come over me. (I know it sounds so "sugar coated" LOL) but it's true.

Glad to hear kisergirl! We have not officially left the church we joined, but are going to the first church we first joined when we moved here. It is a lot closer, and wonderful to see old friends. The Word of God is practiced and preached there, and we are glad to be a part of it all.
