Oh my, I remember that one very clearly. And there are many more that are a bit odd to be taught to children, but we grew up with them. (Don't count my spelling, trying to doit phonetically:
"Skinny Malinkey, long legs, big banana feet
Went tae the movies and couldnee find a seat,
Skinny Malinky farted, and soon the crownd departed,
Skinny Malinky long legs, then could choose a seat"
I may have some of it a bit off, but that was the gist of it!
"Wee Chookie birdie, toly-loly-lol
Laid an egg on the windee-sole, (window-sill)
The windee sole bagan to crack and
We Chookie Birdie went " Quack, quack quack"
Many more of those! Mom and I were trying to remember some of them the other nite.

What a coincidence to read this one, Ceilidh!
Thanks for the laugh.
