Grizzly, you must live in the Pacific Northwest like me!! My husband has had to work all week and go through a treaterous commute. I work from home, thankfully, so on these cold snowy days I stay in my PJ's, (warm, flannel) as long as I can and drink lots of coffee and soup! (it's also a great time to cuddle up with a nice book, if not working) Enjoy!

I am on the east coast (n. Va.) so these kinds of days are not too frequent... Not rare, but not too frequent! Snow is celebrated at our house! If I'm home alone.. I'd probably put a nice fire in the fireplace... have a cup of cocoa too! and maybe put on a good ole chick flick if I'm alone.. Or might just hang out at the computer too! We tend to keep an eye on the local forecast.. Traffic is a zoo normally and even moreso if weather is freezing.. My concern is always to get whoever is out home safely and then we can really relax and enjoy!

This time of year it's also nice to enjoy the fireplace and have great Christmas music on the cd player!

Funny thing in my area... Mention the word 'snow', 'freezing rain', 'sleet' or 'flurries' and everyone panics! The stores fill up with hoarders!

Yeah, KPW, we are in neighboring states. I'm in NC. Snow is so rare here. We have had blizzards, but, not often. Even a couple of inches is a treat.

Today is was supposed to be in the low 70's here and it feels like it.
It has been really warm here for the last week.

When it does get cold and snows, I like to call all my family and friends and share stories and discuss who will driving out in the stuff. We get those with 4 wheel drive to drive us to the grocery store. Then I like to sit by the fire, open all the blinds so I can see the snow, and drink warm drinks or maybe a Bloody Mary with lots of spice. That always warms me up.

If it's near Christmas time I love to watch all the Christmas movies, such as It's A Wonderful Life, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, How the Grinche Stole Christmas, etc., I turn on all the lights on the tree and mantle and candles in the window and just enjoy the season.

I hope we get snow this year!

You know how I know I am officially old? When I was really young the only thing I loved to do on a snowy day was play in the snow. We would bundle up and ride the sled, build snowmen, have snowball fights and anything else outside. We would play until our fingers and toes were numb. My mom would force us to come inside. I did this until I was in my twenties. I know it sounds kind of wierd.

My mom used to make something she called snow cream. It was a mixture on milk, sugar, cocoa, and snow. It was really delicious although I'm not sure how safe it would be to eat now days.

OOOO My grandpa use to make that. It was such a treat. He never made it with cocoa though. Mayfield now makes Snow Cream made of water and cream.
