My Sister 2 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
My sister may have ovarian cancer. She is going through testing. I'm feeling so sad... I cannot imagine my life without her in it. We're a year apart, and have always been lucky enough to be close. The reality that she may die is a nightmare that I wish I could wake up from. Please pray for my sister.

I love my sister so much. We have always been close, and we have always been there for each other. She is facing the life challenge of her life. I will be there with her every step of the way.

We went to get some additional blood tests, and she had a procedure to remove fluid from her stomach/pelvic area for testing.

We stopped off at her internist's office to update him on other tests the specialist had given her, and the results. This dope of a doctor tells my sister she better resolve herself to the fact that she has cancer. He told her this before getting the results of the tests. The color went out of my sister's face... I could see her vital force leave... she looked defeated. Her husband and I tried to inject her with hope, and after speaking with the doctors and nurses at the outpatient facility her color came back along with hope.

Growing up I remember my grandmother always saying... "if you have your health... you have everything." She was right. I have always taken health and life for granted, but I can tell you... it's so precious.

The next couple of days are going to be very hard... waiting for the results... keeping her attitude positive. We are surrounding her with family, and she's okay with that. Her original reaction was getting into bed, and pulling the covers over her head.

The internet says she has a two in five chance of beating this... I pray she is lucky enough to be one of the two.

I just want to add that I have been doing a lot of crying, and I must say that a sense of peace comes over me from the exhaustion. My husband has been very supportive, and I must say one of the "gifts" I asked for was to just let me cry when I need to.

I'm planning to be as positive, and as hopeful as I can be, and will try to look at my sister's illness as a challenge. I spoke to her this morning, and she sounded a lot more positive today. The waiting for the test results is hard enough, but the thought of surgey is unbearable. She is so scared... I wish I could inject her with my strength. I love her so much... it's so hard to see her so scared.
