Did any on you see Clay Aiken on Regis and Kelly last Friday? He was sub hosting for Regis with Kelly. First I will say that I have always loved Clay. He is from Raleigh, North Carolina, where I live and some of his family went to school with some of my family and friends. He was my favorite Idol and I have never seen him be anything but gracious, polite and humble....that is until that show. The crowd gave him a great welcome. ANd then it started.

Clay was self absorbed, condesending, rude, and the most horrible guest co-host I have ever seen. I am still in shock.

THe previous day there had been about 12 deaths in North Carolina from tornadoes. When Kelly mentioned it, Clay said he had just heard about it and he said it was sad but you could tell he had no interest in the topic at all. Kelly then said well, let's talk about you and he lit up and said yes, more about me.

He was very insulting to Kelly every chance he got. He would put her down. Told her that she looked like a person who couldn't sing.

Yesterday she told Regis and everyone on air about the horrible experience. SHe was right. It was soooo bizarre. He really acted hostile to her. SHe says he put his hand over her mouth when she was trying to interview a guest. I missed that as I ran to another room for a moment, Watching the show was painful.

I don't know if he was off his medication. He says he is on it for anxiety or if he has turned into a jerk. I am so embarrassed that he represented this town and state that way. I hope he apoligizes to Kelly publically and offers some explanation.

WOW... I missed the show, but silly boy... this just may come back to bite him. Shame... he could only do damage by this behavior... and to have Kelly discuss this the next day with Regis... double WOW...WOW... LOL

Yep, I saw the show................the whole painful show. Clay was VERY ungrateful as a "new" star and just trampled Kelly. When you earn fame the "easier" way and are shot to overnight success, you really need to stay humble and gracious. While I don't think it was a big deal that he got fame quickly on American Idol.......he IS wrong to get such an over-inflated ego.

It was not just the hand over the mouth thing either (which is HUGE to me also........YUKKY germs!!! and insulting) it was his demeanor on the whole show!!!!! JERK.

Rosie was talking about it on The View this a.m. and thought maybe Kelly was a homophobe. Long story short Kelly called via phone on the show and ripped Rosie a new one for assuming that. As much as I do like Rosie............Kelly is right.........that had NOTHING to do with being treated like crap!! Rosie said Kelly's comment about "not knowing where that hand has been" would only be said to a homosexual. UNTRUE...................I don't want ANYone's hand on my MOUTH for gracious sake!!!

Kelly also said Clay never said a simple thank you for guest hosting or anything. It's his entire demeanor, attitude and actions that are pathetic.

I think Kelly and Rosie will be okay, and different folks will take what they see in their own "perceptions". But Clay honestly needs to look in the mirror and find some humility and graciousness!!!!!!!!!

Okay, here's what I know about this situation: I didn't see the show on Friday, but I read about it somewhere on the back sheet of the newspaper, just an aside, no big deal. Then this morning on "The View" Rosie brought it up under the topic of Kelly being "homophobic" (they showed a clip) stating that the reason she objected to him (Clay) putting his hand over her mouth, (to shut her up) was misinterpreted by Rosie. She (Kelly) made the comment that "I don't know where it's been" meaning, he had just shaken hands with hundreds of fans and having three children at home, being concerned about bringing home COLDS and FLU during the season! (Not what Rosie was obviously "reading" into it. )

I was very proud of Kelly for standing up for herself with Rosie and clarifying to her that she was being overly sensative to the gay/homophobic thing. I was amazed and impressed by Kelly's response and I could tell that Rosie (for once) felt put in her place. I like Rosie, but she can be a tad overbearing and needs to not get too high on that pedestal.

By the way, I found it interesting how much Joy Behar was enjoying the whole "celebrity feuding"...she kept announcing that "Kelly is on the phone" when I think Rosie wanted to ignore it after just calling her homophobic.

Oh, the drama!
