Election Calls 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 2
I just received 10 different calls about the electioin in the past 2 hours. I find it really annoying that they are calling my house on a Sunday afternoon!

Wow, really Tara. That's funny...I haven't received one single call about the election, thankfully. If I were to...I'd just hang up. I don't like people soliciting at my door nor do I like such phone calls. I swear in my neighborhood...I get at least 5 persons dumping pamphlets and fliers off each day. I have a little wrought iron gate leading up to my courtyard and this gate is stuffed daily with literature of some sort. Ticks me off. I also have a little iron window door thingy in my front door...I open it...peek out and tell these people to go away, I am not interested. I had just had my front yard redone last year...in it's entirety...new sod, all new plants, etc. Two days later, some fool knocks on my door and asks if he he can treat my lawn, 'for what'..I asked...'it's brand new sod'.

Ciera,

That's funny.. especially the latter example i.e. the lawn.. I had a similar experience recently. I live in an older home and about 2 years ago we had new windows and siding installed a new door and storm door. The house looks great!

I had a salesman come to the door trying to sell me windows and siding. I've had numerous phone solicitations too... but you'd think they'd pick and choose when they are going door to door.. He may just not have thought about it..

Now if I could only get the mortgage hawkers to quit calling.

I finally got on the nat'l do not call list.

As for political calls.. The majority of them are prerecorded. I receive 1 or 2 a day..and probably will have a barrage of them tomorrow though. At least with the prerecorded ones it's easier to hang up on them. I still struggle to hang up on a human being though! I try to be polite but sometimes they are aggressive!

I'll sure be glad when Tuesdays elections are over.

I get emails from candidates from another state. I keep asking them to remove me from the list because I can't vote for them because I moved out of the state. They usually then stop... until the next issue/ seat race. I actually got a reply once... asking me to talk to any friends I left behind and urge them to vote for the issue because it's an important one...

Now I tell them I vote for the one that doesn't call me about voting.
