Iyanla as radio guest 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Last night I happened to catch a portion of Iyanla speaking as the guest on the nationally syndicated Michael Baisden show. Did anyone else hear it? I would like to know if they talked with her about herself personally later in the show or if it was all about the topic of the show which was sex and young people....pre-teens and teens learning about their bodies, knowing about birth control, being taught morality, etc. What I heard was very good. A few callers called in and Iylana gave them some advice.

I think you can listen to the shows at www.michaelbaisden.com but there is a small fee. I may choose to do that so I can catch the parts of the show that I missed.

It's so ironic how things work out. I was pulling into the drive thru at the dry cleaners listening to the show and the lady working there over heard the show and made a comment and I said oh, that's Iyanla and she said OMG, I love her. I asked if she was a SO fan and she said yes plus she was an aspiring inspirational speaker and Iyanla is her hero. I gave her the station number and she ran inside in order to catch the rest of the show. I think it is amazing the number of lives' the ladies on that show have influenced. It was a feel good moment.

Okay! Hear that powers that be?

While SO may not have been perfect... It was not your typical reality show! It really did impact many people.

Unfortunately, I don't think Iyanla was interested in pursuing the same type project. She seemed like she wanted to teach(speaker) rather than coach. Or that is what I was lead to believe _base_d on her chat session earlier in the year at WCW.

It was rumored earlier in the season that she wasn't going to be returning even if they had gone to a new season.

I'm keeping an ear peeled for any rumored projects that would be more in keeping with SO than B/M's planned project. I hope that Rhonda's blog might eventually yield some info... Maybe wishful thinking.. Just that she seemed to be hesitant to commit to 2007 conferences/seminars.. Who knows what she meant by that... Maybe she'll retire. I doubt it...but with a beau in the picture.. anything could be possible!

I've never heard of that radio program.. It really is a small world sometimes, isn't it? It's almost like we are an anomaly! (not really... Just in the big scheme of things and the zillions of shows and programming available..)

I think it would have been a feel good moment for me too! It is, just hearing about it!

The station that this show came on is locally called Foxy 104.3 out of Durham, NC. It is a blues/jazz station. Apparently this national talk show is ran every evening. I really liked the show so I think I will check it out again. I'd like to hear Iyanla again too.

THe talk show host Michael Baisden talks about a number of things. I have heard him before but didn't know who he was. He has different topics such as politics, sex, relationships, family problems, education, etc.
I think he is aired on urban stations.

Could probably find out what stations carry his show.. by checking out the _link_ you provided.

I think you must have just gotten really lucky and stumbled on it when Iyanla happened to be on there. Maybe it was the voice!
She has a distinct voice.. or maybe it was 'providence' and there was something you were meant to hear! In any case... it is neat since I don't think I've seen anything of her since the show ended.
Her business is even _base_d in the D.C. area.. (Silver Spring, Md.)
I saw her site not too long ago..and see where she has seminars and stuff.. But haven't seen anything of her at all in the local media.

I happened to catch Iyanla again on the Baisden radio program. Unfortunatlely, the show was ending when I tuned in, rats. I just heard him thanking Iyanla for being his guest. I simply must set my clock to catch that show when she is on as a guest. I am now thinking that it must be a regular thing.

You ought to see if they have a schedule online.. Or maybe Iyanla's website might mention a regular radio gig.
