Ok.. I bet we've all been duped by one of these. I bought the microcrisp when it finally came to Costco and then I also bought one of those inexpensive mandolin type vegetable slicer gizmos..

Neither worked as well as they showed..,

I'm wondering about the new hercules hooks... I'm tempted..

Anyone buy them?

My sister called and ordered those new mops they've been advertising.. But instead of sending her 1 plus 1 free, they sent her 4...and the shipping and handling was how they get their money. She wound up shipping them back she was so mad... They make it sound like a bargain until you get to the bottom line. They were billing her for $60 bucks or something..

What are your infomercial stories...? Good, bad or ugly?

Years, years ago... I purchased hot hair rollers from an infomercial... worked well at first, but ended up damaging my hair. It looked very easy to use on TV, but was not as easy to use as it looked... LOL

I purchased a gadget to clean mirrors, windshields and glass at Bed and Bath that I saw on an infomercial... the TV infomercial said it cleaned without leaving streaks... wrong.

I purchased a mop from Bed and Bath that I saw on an infomercial... did not work very well.

I purchased the Swifter... it works well picking up hair and dust, but somehow leaves a sort of residue on the floor.

I purchased Tony Little exercise tapes from an informercial... that turned out to be a good purchase... I actually use them... not often... LOL

I was thinking of buying a juicer, but am hesitating buying one I recently saw on TV.

Funny... I did not realize how I have allowed the TV to influence me... LOL... my list was longer than I expected.

Robo robot also looked interesting... LOL

I think Rosie had a segment on the View recently about infomercial products... if I remember correctly she liked the hooks. Are they the kind that you screw in? If so... she seemed to rave about them.

I think you push it in... It almost looks like a huge curtain hook.. and then reposition it once you have pierced the drywall... a long section goes into the wall and braces against the drywall above where hole is made and allows for a heavy load to be supported. The hook supposedly is easy to remove and leaves but a small hole that you could patch with toothpaste (apartment trick!).. or for real..spackling..

I did see the segment the other week when they used those... Somehow when he was trying to pierce the drywall it didn't look as easy as they make it look on the commercial!

Here is a link... I guess the hook looks like a huge fishing hook..
Hopefully from the picture, you get the general idea.

I'm really tempted to order them.. Even just to hang pictures and such.. Would be nice to not have to use those stupid plastic anchors!

I bought the Jack La Lanne's Power Juicer... Costco had it for the same price that was advertised on TV, but no shipping costs.

It looks so easy on TV... it is, but a bit messy... and it was not so easy to clean up... LOL

I bought it to encourage my sister to drink some power drinks... seems there is info on internet regarding ovarian cancer and ginger... I juiced carrots, apple and ginger, and my sister actually liked it.

Go ahead and order them KPW....they are fantastic! I hung a heavy Celtic shield with ONE!! QVC carries them...type in drywall hangers. SO easy, and only a small hole left if you have to move anything.
