I was going to ask if anyone saw the segment with the couple from the Amazing Race.. Apparently there was a down to earth couple from Kentucky... who treated everyone with respect and given that that is such an oddity on these type shows... garnered special attention. I don't follow the show.. (the amazing Race)... so didn't know what was up. Anyway, Rosie wanted to send the couple on a cruise.. but they didn't want to go without their children. so instead the kids were getting 3 vacation for the next 3 years (I guess the whole family).. plus a computer... then a car was thrown in..(an suv) and since they live in a trailor, the show (Or Rosie) arranged for a special house to built (my guess is a modular housing unit) for the family. The woman was overwhelmed. I think being nice was just part of her natural makeup. I think her and or her husband had tried out for Survivor but didn't make it.. But they invited them to do the AR. She had never flown before... He was a coal miner..
I was really happy for the couple.. and glad that good behavior has it's rewards... occasionally anyway. Treating others well...is a reward in itself.. I was a bit teary by the end... It made me wish I had seen this couple's adventure.
Also on the View was Ashley Judd. She didn't look too well to me. Bags under her eyes.. I know she's had some struggles in the last years.. I think depression..
By the time I tuned in to hot topics they were talking about Elizabeth's baby and her friend (best friend's week) who was helping to cohost... was offering her perception on how Elizabeth and Tim parented Grace. It was done in love.. I'm sure there are times when we are all nutty about our own kids sometimes.. and hopefully we all can laugh about our excesses sometimes!
I didn't see the whole show though. I think the View's website has recaps.
I have not been watching the Amazing Race on a regular basis, but the few times I tuned in I did notice how nice the woman was. I was also touched by the way this couple was rewarded. I think they were a little overwhelmed... I'm sure they never expected to be rewarded so generously.
