I was home watching Tv here in Iowa with my firefighter husband thanking God My firefighter husband was safe.

I was at work when it happend.

We where watching the news and heard and couldn't believe what was happening.

I had just put one son on the bus--one was home from nursery school that day, laying in my bed watching Nickelodeon. I sat down with my cup of tea and put the Today show on, thinking I had 15 minutes of quiet before the cartoons were over. As the first reports of a plane hitting came over the Tv, I remember calling my mom, and saying how there must be something going on with the air traffic controlling--a malfunction of the system. She calmly replied in my hysterical ear, "This is no mistake, Maureen." And I kept telling her, yes it was!--and I hung up. A short while she called back--by now I was uncontrollable, and as we talked the Pentagon report came in, shortly before Flight 93 in Penn.

The scariest part of all this was I knew my sister-in-law was proctoring a test somewhere in D.C.--turned out it was directly across the river from the Pentagon--they closed the curtains on a beautiful fall day, and reopened them to black, thick smoke everywhere.

May we never have to live through a day like that again, and to those who lost loved ones--I will always remember.

Since I live on the west coast we are behind NY, I was just getting out of the shower and watching the news. They had the live pictures of the first plane in the towers and then the second one was going in the second tower, I was telling the news caster to "turn around" the plane is going to the tower.
I work in Seattle and they shut down the space needle and all of our tallest buildings.
All i can remember is thinking "what the heck is going on" then while at work we heard about the other planes

Such a sad day and I really hope Jessica is using her tools she learned in the house to get through today on her own.

Sorry I've commented on everything BUT this topic. It's still something I can't let myself think about..........I have to keep myself very distracted and buffered from it in order to just get thru! I know a lot of others like that too. But don't think we're just ignoring....................we're coping in our own way!
