Finale rerun 1 Year, 8 Months ago
I cried again.... But I taped it so I could reminisce a little more leisurely!

I'm actually glad they showed the finale again.. I still think that they knew SO was not coming back way back when... It was orchestrated too poignantedly (is that a word?) ... with recaps of women older and newer to the SO seasons.

I did get newer perspectives seeing it a second time...

I could tell that most of the women did sincerely benefit from their time in the house.

It was a good episode and finale for the series.. I will squirrel it away before someone tapes over it though.

Did anyone else tape it? or get new impressions?

Sometimes watching something again puts a new perspective on the whole picture. I didn't tape it however. It was good to see the ladies and how they have progressed in their lives and helped us progress.
I would have liked to see more of them (the ladies) but understand they all couldn't make it or the funds arn't there.
Amazing how many of us can relate to what is and was going on with them. It has helped me become stronger and use my "voice"!!

Sad thing that a wonderful show like Starting Over is no more. I will miss it.

I did tape the show when it first aired. I may just take it out and play it this weekend. I get a certain feeling when I see that show. There's something about the music, the announcers voice, the opening scenes, etc. that just puts me in the mood for healing, learning, and entertainment....odd combination isn't it? The show even caused me to fall in love with L.A. Now that is an accomplishment!

I agree with you KPW...they did know that would be the last show...everything was presented as an "ending." Maybe they were still hopeful it would be picked up elsewhere, and didn't announce it for that reason? Like us...hoping!?

I got something new out of...every rerun!! I...thought..I was paying attention during the original airings...but there were all sorts of little nuances that I had missed. Facial _expression_s that
"told a story" better than words, made you understand just a little better than before. Also, I found seeing the women a second time did away with any negative first impressions....I have a quote on my fridge door..."take another look...you'll always see something you didn't notice before...and it might surprise you!" So true!

OK...I have to admit...even Nyanza seems to have changed...think I mentioned, after the first airing that she did not seem as arrogant, but I did notice a much more peaceful and calm "affect"....of course, she's a newlywed, so that might be it!!

I LOVED seeing all the women together, and absolutely agreed with Dr. Stan when he said they have inspired many other women
...just read this board!! I especially enjoyed seeing "the young ones" sort out their lives before their problems became became
"entrenched."

I thought of the first group in Season 1...signing up for SOH with no previous episodes to give them an idea of what they were getting into!! I think of them as the "pioneers!"

They all became so familiar to us...drew us into their stories, and made us care about them...just women, like us. I wish each and every one of them the best that life has to offer.

P.S. Still sorry that Niambi did not get the chance to "go the distance"...somehow I don't think Iyanla left her "out in the cold!"
