YUKK!!

I've been dealing with this for a week now, hopefully am finally on the mend!!! I'm trying to get an actual strain diagnosis from my niece's doctor...........most of us who are relatively young and healthy didn't go to the doc. But I'm worried about my baby niece. She's at the most risk and am wondering how to get it reported as it was a caterer at another niece's baby shower who gave it to us all!!!

But..........the tricky thing is that it's a friend of my husband's brother's wife's sister. Okay, now THAT is a bit tricky, eh????? lol

Anyway...............it'll cause issues, but that lady does private catering and, aside from the fact that the food was gross, there was obviously huge neglect and/or health risk. Being in the medical field, myself, I KNOW I have to report it............but I don't have the lady's name!!!! So I have to somehow convince my sis-in-law to confront her sister!!! What a tangle!!!!

Besides staying hydrating (and close to a bathroom!!!).........any suggestions????

Grizz, You might just report it and give them where the baby shower was. I'm sure you aren't the only one who got sick... They don't have to know you were inadverdantly related... somewhere...I think???? Then I would imagine that they'd go to the home and find out who did the catering.

Just think of it as doing a public service! ok?

You might also report the names of others who got sick as well.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Did everyone throw out their spinach? I've been using fresh baby organic spinach... would think that would be safe, but I called Costco, and they said to bring it back.

The TV news seems to indicate concern about our food supply. I generally just rinse fruits and veg under water... does any use special sprays to clean?

I do use the FIT spray. But I know it only can help a little. I heard that the most important foods to buy organically grown were produce, meat and milk. We get homegrown beef.........but I need to change the others, but it's so expensive to feed the family. Oh well................I can't complain, at least we can afford to feed our family!!

I did hear that the cow manure they use isn't supposed to be used on any foods that are eaten raw. Hopefully they'll get all the "bugs" worked out and get some procedures and policies and enforcement!

It sure is expensive to go organic. I'm very slowly changing over. I started shopping at Whole Foods... I'm spending more, and purchasing less. There was a clip on one of the news shows regarding organic produce... because of the expense... the news show suggested going organic with grapes, cherries, potatoes, and I can't remember what else... because of the pesticides. Apples and pears can be pealed... so I think they were okay. A small carton of organic cherries were almost $10.00 -- too expensive. I've been buying organic eggs... I find they really taste better, and I've tried organic egg whites... they're very good, but expensive... I think I paid $6.00 for a small container.

I have not tried organic meat, but the meat at Whole Foods is grass-fed, no hormones, and very expensive. I'm serving smaller meat portions... larger salads, and more veg.

Oh well... like you said I'm grateful we can afford to feed our family, but it sure would be nice to be more confident in what I'm buying.
