Heard today that there had been an arrest in the Jon Benet Ramsay case. It seems that a man, named John Karr, was arrested in Thailand (well known as a playground for pedophiles), and that he has given details only the perpetrator would know.
Immediately, I thought how sad that this comes after the death of
Jon Benet's mother!! Was gratified to hear a statement from her husband that she had been made aware of the investigation of this individual, shortly before her death.
I must admit that I was suspicious of the parents in this case, but could not help asking myself...what if they had nothing to do with it, and are going through this hell on earth, as well as suffering the loss of their child? It seems we get jaded ,when , so often, it seems that the parents end up being the guilty parties.
Every time I saw the pictures of Jon Benet , in full makeup, I would feel angry at the parents, and still do not approve of beauty pageants for little children. That probably caused a bit of bias in my thinking...absent any other suspects. Still, that "what if"...plagued me.
Details are few, as of now, but they say what he tells them about how entry to the house was made would confirm his story...plus the matter of DNA, of course.
He will be brought to the U.S. at the weekend. IF he is guilty, and he let that woman go to her death not knowing...that is beyond my understanding.

Ramsey was killed on Boxing Day 1996 at her home in Boulder and was found beaten and strangled in the basement of the family home.

It's been a very long 10 years for her family and sad that Patsy isn't here today to hear about her daughter’s killer. Ramsey’s parents, Patsy and John Ramsey, vehemently maintained their innocence over the years, claiming an intruder killed their daughter. They also wrote a book called "The Death of Innocence," published in 2000.

I do have to admit I thought that Ramsey’s parents where involved with her murder.

I know that they said he had intimate knowledge of things that were not made public and from what I read he had been arrested in Thailand for a sexual offense, so even if he never is convicted of JonBenet's death, their is at least one less sex offender off the street. THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!!!!!

I admit I also thought somehow the parents were involved or protecting someone. I recall bits and pieces of info about some of their stories conflicting and also a ransom type note written that they suspected she had written..

It had occurred to me that maybe one of the other children were involved and they were protecting them.

I feel terrible for having fallen for some of the media's frenzy in the speculation circus.

I'll be interested in hearing what they have on this guy. I thought I heard that a press conference was going to be held soon. I sure hope it's true...

What a double tragedy...that they've had to endure the loss of their daughter and the suspicians all these years. And then a triple tragedy with the reoccurance of cancer..and her recent death.

I agree with Ceilidh though about the beauty pageants... Something strangely bizarre with making little girls up to the nth degree.. and having them compete against one another.
