Ok I'm bored and thought I would ask...what do you guys do for "cheap" dinners, when you've got no food in the house, or your just to lazy to cook?!?!?!?!

my father-in-law taught me this one, and it is quite good actually, my daughter who is 4 loves it, and of course it is easy!!!

slice up hard boiled eggs and put it in a bowl of ramen noodles, cheap, quick, easy, and quite good!!!

Usually, my fiancee and I will take turns cooking, when we do have dinner together. But when we don't feel like cooking, or don't have anything in our homes (we're together but not living together yet), depending on how we're feeling, we'll go to a diner or to a deli or IHOP. Inexpensive and fun

Hi Pete!!!!! I missed ya, bud!!! Glad to see ya.............I'm not here often or for much posting.........summer is craaaaaaazy!!! We're in Houston right now on a business trip/vacation!!!!

Annnnnnnnyway...............BOT...........

IHOP was great when the kids were little 'cuz they eat free on certain nites, other restauraunts do that too and it's a wonderful way to enjoy a meal out!!! Lonestar Steak House in Colorado also does that. BUTTTTTTTTTTTTT..........mine are now teens and eat like adults, so those days are gone!!!

Our only cheap meals are at home nowadays.......actually we get a 1/2 cow every Feb. and it lasts us just about a year. We get a tremendous deal and NO antibiotics or any other yuckkkky stuff!!!! So I don't have an excuse of not having any food in the house!!!!

I eat the same thing almost every night. I'm usually tired and also don't want to mess up my clean kitchn. It's chicken filet by Purdue. They come 6 in a bag. They are individually wrapped so you can freeze until you're ready and tear off only the number you want. They are actually found in the fresh section of poultry. There is a dollar off coupon in each bag.

One or two will thaw out in a bowl of water in less than 5 minutes. I rinse it off, because it does have salt on it, and grill in my George Foreman grill. It's not too thick so it cooks in less than 6 minutes. I then put a few marinated mushrooms and pimentoes on top. It's very tasty, low carb, low fat and low calorie. They are so easy to keep on hand. I try to make a big bowl of rice early in the week and then just heat it up to serve with the chicken. Frozen veggies are also quick and nutritious. It's easy preparation and clean up.

Ok I guess I should have phrased this different, although I like all af your ideas..DEBBY yours sounds especially good, yum!! On another bored we started a thread about "creative," "unusual," "cheap," things you eat when you don't feel like cooking or goin out, or even things your parents used to cook you when they were broke!! it is just interesting to hear some of the stuff, (and some of it is wuite goo!! its just kind of fun!! examples of some of the stuff people have told me is.... bread and milk, and you can also add cheese(yuck to me,butyeah) mac and cheese with spam cut up in it,, breakfast for dinner,, someone even told me rice and you poor milk on it and add as much sugar to taste.. haven't tried it yet so don't know..sounds kind of "iffy" anyway you can find lots of interesting stuff....

so my next one would be mixing tuna, may and cut up pickles and dunking cool ranch doritos in it....yum!!!
