Yeah, I wish her departure could have been on a good note, especially since they may win an Emmy this year! If not this year, it will never happen.

Also, I was looking forward to the specials Rosie was supposed to come by and do on Autism, Depression and Menopause.

It didn't go down too well, but you know, at lease no blows were thrown. LOL.

I did read and heard Elisabeth later admit that when the two were going at it and they cut to comercial break, BOTH of them were cursing at each other. That kinda surprised me.

I guess there is the question as to whether the show is a news show or entertainment. If it's entertainment, you are supposed to get more discretion on what you say....kinda like Leno and Letterman. Those guys get away with murder.

I hope The View stays strong and relevant whomever they bring aboard. Perhaps one day Rosie will come back and make nice.

Has anyone heard anything about Rosie's head writer being caught defacing the posters (putting mustaches on EH) in the building and was escorted off the premises? (This is the same woman that was sitting with Rosie on her blog after she quit)... I've heard that Rosie may have quit because her friend was kicked out and not just for the split screen/ fight. That she felt ABC's action towards her friend/ writer was a personal attack. .. Wonder if this is true (the reason for quiting... One of the guest, after Rosie left, gave EH a sharpie pen and Joy mentioned mustaches and EH gave a motion of drawing one on herself, leads me to believe that someone did deface the posters.)

I think with the comment about 'poor pure innocent christian Elizabeth' gave me the feeling that there was a resentment there. "They like you best" sort. Rosie did constantly berated EH for her views and belief and usually steamrolled right over EH... best to let Rosie fume at the situation than for it to be redirected. I also often wondered about why the audience was so reved up on Rosie's conspiracy theories... Then I saw that recording from a cell-phone with Rosie.. without any other panel member out in front of the audience 'educating' them about the "truth of 911" before the show started (make-up artist were really having a hard time trying to prep her). It also happened during commercial break. Why was Rosie given the extra platform and alone time with the audience with only her views being expressed.. during the "prime the audience' portion that is suppose to get everyone in a good mood. If this was normal.. how could anyone with differing viewpoint feel they can be heard or that anyone really is open to their viewpoint... I can't blame EH for finally exploding.

I think the aftermath was very very childish. Like a group of teenagers.

T/R, I did hear about the 'defacing' of pictures around the studio. I think I mentioned it in another post or thread. Seemed so juvenile! According to the reports I heard, the person was escorted by ABC from the building. I did see when Jimmy Fallon handed Elisabeth a marker the week after the incident and assume that was what and who you were referring to. Elisabeth just laughed and seemed to take it in stride.

I didn't know about Rosie getting out there before the audience to rile them up... i think that the statement Rosie made about 'christian Elisabeth' sounded very snide and yes, childish and an attempt to be victimized. I really don't blame Elisabeth for finally blowing up. If Rosie chose to accuse Elisabeth on the show while taping and not in private than what options did Elisabeth have? Once Rosie called Elisabeth a 'coward' then it seemed to escalate beyond control and their emotions stepped in.

I think much of Rosie's emotions and hatred toward Bush may be rooted in other issues. Perhaps the marriage amendment and gay issues in particular.

I remember what a dramatic change in her temperament that she exhibited after the Rosie show ended... More of a defiant and angry person. I think that was well before Columbine.. I recall she had some major legal issues and disputes with the people she worked with who were publishing her magazine that bore her name.

Post edited by: KPW1956, at: 2007/06/05 09:46

I'm not a Rosie fan, but I have to admit she did add more life to the show. Some of the shows this week were very dull.

I didn't realize the woman sitting beside Rosie in the video on her blog was the woman who supposedly defaced Elisabeth's photo. Are your sure? I don't like that if it's true. Defacing is so childish and I think it did happen. I must be losing it, because I heard the Sharpie remark and it went WAY over my head. LOL. I didn't connect the dots then. Oh well. Now I get it.

Some of you say the show has lost it and won't survive now, and I thought that too, but now I'm not so sure. I have enjoyed it this past week. Not great, but okay. The audience seems to still be enthusiastic even with Rosie gone.

OH. Did you see Barbara Walters go off of Kathy Griffin this week? Oh my. I thought it would be headlines. Well, you know how Griffin is so out there and loud mouth. (She can be funny and sometimes not funny).
Griffin had chided Barbara about not using any questional words on tv and Barbara stood firm. Then Griffin gave some strong criticism of Condalisa Rice. Barbara was quite displeased and later told Griffin that she thought her words were bigoted. ANd then when Griffin said she wanted to be invited to one of Barbara's famous dinner parties, Barbara said "You will never be invited to one of my dinner parties." She was quite serious and I have never seen Barbara quite so blunt and put off before. It was very uncomfortable.

I'll be surprised if Griffin comes back again unless Barbara wants someone to fight with. I know, bring Marie Osmond to fight with Joy and Griffin to fight with Barabar. LOL. Let Elisabeth take a break for awhile.
