I think they are both acting on hurt feelings.
Whenever the media attacks something that Rosie says... it's almost like they come to the defense of Elizabeth. I wouldn't doubt it if she connects Elizabeth to the attacks in some way because of certain statements she said today. Joy started some of it by reading her "facts" (most were a matter of opinion on how to handle things) on why President Bush should simply be forced out ... Elizabeth asked a question which somehow triggered Rosie and the whole "American troops are terrorist" fiasco all over again. Something in Elizabeth blew (Hormones or maybe just tired of being verbally ran over or maybe something was said off camera earlier ?????)

Rosie was hurt because Elizabeth didn't defend her the way Rosie thought she should. She really felt Elizabeth should have refuted that Rosie thought that way instead of giving Rosie the floor to explain more clearly, in her own words, what she meant since what Rosie said was pretty harsh on our Troops, even if she didn't mean it that way. Personally I think that was the right thing to do because even if Elizabeth said what Rosie wanted her to say.... Rosie said what she said and I think the media would say "Elizabeth is being nice"... etc etc. I also think Elizabeth was right when she said Rosie has to be responsible for her own words and defend her own thoughts. There was also mention that Rosie told Elizabeth not to go with the facts that are out there but go with what she feels. It certainly made for discomfort. It didn't start off well with Joy being upset that Dancing with the Stars was watched more than Al Gore.

shrugs.. gotta love politics- all the finger pointing, halo robbing, better than thou attitudes, and the "show of power" being more important than doing right (and some wonder why I refuse to pick a party over an individual and rather have facts over accusations/ party loyalty.. it's enough to make a simple headache into a migraine!)

oh I notice a lot of them coming out and greeting Rosie more warmly than they do Elizabeth and sometimes the others. I also notice more guest on there that backs Rosie politically than those that oppose her. Could be some don't want in the firing line of Rosie or they tend to invite those match in her political views. WHO KNOWS!

I think they actually have had Bill O'Reilly on there a few months ago. I remember laughing because he played it pretty cool and Rosie did not go off on him. I thought he looked a little frightened sitting on the couch. LOL.

It's hard for most people to argue with themself. My approach with Rosie and Elisabeth, if I disagreed with them, would be to state my case and not "go off." Joy holds herself down most of the time, although she talks over people too much.

There are many talented people who can discuss issues without losing it. Look at Tim Russett. He is so smart and tough, yet maintains a great sense of humor. I love watching him. He was actually on The View recently. I think the panel could take some tips from him.

After his documentary, Michael Moore got really verbally abused. I saw him appear somewhere that talked to him so horribly that I was angered. He handled it so well. He was short on words, took it all in stride, said his piece and took it all in good humor. He was very calm and even had a smile on his face. I don't know how he did it. I guess he's had lots of practice.

Everyone knows that Rosie doesn't believe our soldiers are terrorists, but she sure did insinuate same. I thought it was unreasonable for Rosie to expect Elisabeth to defend Rosie's thoughts and insinuations.

It was interesting to see how much coverage the "cat fight" got... LOL... even Larry King had a segment on it.

I enjoy the hot topics segment... I also enjoy that it has been extended.

Yes she did, but why do you think that after she sat down she acted so pleasant to everyone and looked and smiled at Elisabeth and answered her questions with no indication of disapproval? I don't get it.

The only possible explanation I can come up with is that after she dissed her with the greeting, she thought better and decided to be neutral OR she had a cold and had told Elisabeth before the show she didn't want to give it to her being pregnant and all. Who knows?

This Rosie and Elisabeth Hasselbeck thing is just crazy! It's making really good TV though. I doubt anybody over at the view had any idea how much attention Rosie was going to bring to the view when they signed her on.

Post edited by: Tara, at: 2007/05/25 16:32
