I saw her a bit on the show the other week. Maybe... I don't recall how much she spoke.. I just hope she wouldn't use that nasally droning voice that she's known for..
Gosh I sure hope they don't offer it to Joan Rivers! I hear tvguide let her and her daughter go!
I did think of someone earlier that would have been good.. I enjoyed Valerie Bertinelli the other day when she was on... I kind of like them having a revolving guest seat... Rather than fill Star's seat permanently. VB might not be experienced enough to be the lead person..
I do think Katie Couric would be great..because of her experience and natural personality too. I don't think the night gig has worked out very well for her...
I'm sure we could come up with another dozen possibilities!
Has anyone seen Bill the producer lately on the View? I heard Rosie was trying to ditch him... I also heard she was trying to ditch Bab's too... The show is their brainchild! Not sure if it's true or not...but certainly haven't seen Bill in aawhile... (can't remember his last name!... Getty... Is that it? Bill Getty?
Is he still around. I enjoyed when the panel would banter with him during the show..

I don't think Bill sits in the audience anymore. They never show him anymore either. I don't mind. The ladies are better than ever. I don't miss him. It's rumored he and Rosie don't get along. But, neither did he and Star. I always thought that Star thing was a bit shaky. I always disagreed with Barbara and Bill on that one. I still don't think Barbara was honest about it and Bill was actually the one who was behind firing Star a few days early after she pulled the stunt.
I like the idea of Katie Couric a lot! I really like her, but, don't think they would allow her to do that kind of show in addition to the real news. I'm sure she has a contract that pays well, so she wouldn't want to leave that job right now. I think she might consider that job a step down from her prior ones.
Everytime I see her on the evening news she looks really sad, scared and not very calm. It's quite alarming. Maybe that's what people are concerned about. Whom ever is doing her makeup is not doing a good job. It makes her look very harsh and unnatural. Her makeup on the Today Show was great. Why don't they see that and correct it. Why doesn't she notice it?
I heard some rumor lately that someone with CBS was bad mouthing Katie to the big bosses..they thought it was a co-worker. Not sure how true that is. I don't think CBS will renew her contract when it's up.
I'm going to just enjoy The View through June and then let it go for awhile.

All I have to say is....as long as it is NOT Ryan Seacrest. He's a nice enough guy, but is a tad "overexposed" and has a tendency to take (or talk) over already established hosts on shows like E! News etc.
I could go a good six months with only seeing Juliana * & whomever (but not Seacrest - he is involved in too many projects simultaneously).
Seriously, when I see he's part of the "host" group, sure as God made green apples, Excellent established hostesses such as Juliana are kinda 'muzzled' by his presence or maybe his style, I don't know.
Anyway, my two cents worth

I agree with you Lizzie, I hate they canceled SO too.
I did see Alec Baldwin on The View last week. I'm afraid I was very touched by his words. I think people who are "rage aholics" wich I think he is based on his own history with family, friends and co-workers, are good at making nice after an incident. That is how they deal with it. They say they are sorry, but, they never learn the tools to handle the rage in a less harmful way. They look sad and maybe they are, but, that sadness goes out of the window when they get angry again and the whole cycle starts over.
I don't know these people so I can't know what is in his heart, but, I think there is danger of repeatedly saying someone loves a child just because they are the parent of the child. I think it says that people who love you can talk to you in a abuse way, but, they really love you and that's what is important. Children nor adults should be subjected to abuse in any way, regardless of how much the person CLAIMS they love them. If your love is really sincere, you will stop the abuse. And if you can't help yourself and keep on abusing, then you shouldn't have contact with the person you claim to love.
Alec still puts the cause of his rage on his claim of parental alilenation. That's why he's like that. I don't buy it. If what he claims is true, then you have to fight it head on and in an appropiate way. He has not done that. He cannot control what the mother does so he needs to stop trying and handle himself in the best way possible. He refuses to do that.
I'm not on Bassinger's side either. I think they both are screwed up, but, they picked it each and chose to have a child together and now they want to portray the other as the devil.

WOW... the sparks sure were flying this morning on The View.
Elizabeth and Rosie went at each other in a very personal way... actually it was Rosie who started the attack. She was hurt that Elizabeth didn't back her up regarding a comment she made.
I thought Rosie came across as a bully... she has a way of twisting words and comments... she sounded mean and childish. She is very passionate about her political views, however, it is not very flattering to personally attack Elizabeth... her views... yes. Rosie has a problem separating the two.

I have always supported Rosie and still do, but she has got to get a grip. She lets her buttons get pushed and then just goes into overload. I think her medication needs to be adjusted or something. When the sparks started to fly I hit fast forward. I'm tired of rehashing what was said previously on the show. New stuff is fine, Just stop repeating the same old thing.
Elisabeth also has a way of not hearing what someone says. She likes to turn words around to suit her purpose. I disagree and think Elisabeth actually started the rehash. That's my take, but I did stop listening and went to after the words started to fly.
I think passion is great and if you can't feel passionate about the state of our nation, the lives of soldiers, and the future of our children, what can you feel passionate about? The problem is that if you cannot maintain control over yourself, you lose the respect and listening audience that you need to get your message to. Why don't they get this? Logically they should. That's why I think it it chemical or something.
Did you notice Alicia Silverstone did not hug or shake hands with Elisabeth when she came out? She did smile and talk to Elisabeth but I thought to greet eveyone else and not her was odd.
