I make no judgement about Allison filing bankruptcy. I have no knowledge of why she filed, but I do know cancer is VERY expensive to treat and will bankrupt most people. Especially if they lack insurance.

You shouldn't be surprised at people's disdain for Allison's other character flaws. If she was working on her issues with integrity like Jill and TJ, more people might root for her. If you have ever read Allison's blog from years before she went on SO, you would see her true character and then her un-authentic persona on SO would be more obvious. She is not what she portrays on the show. I'll find the web address and post it here.

A couple of small images came up--like pics she took of herself with her camera phone. It's definitely Miss Allison before the hair dye and plucked brows. The dates of her blog are between 2000 and 2004. There are also pictures of books that she reads.

If I recall right... When she was on SO2... I did a search and there were 2 or 3 different Allison Stanley's..

This one doesn't even sound close...

THere was one listed that I recall might have been from England..and I recall a picture of her.. and she seemed much younger than Allison.. but did have red hair..

She also came across as a punker type..

I'll see if I can find the one that popped up last year during my searches.. before I found Allison's site..

I think a couple people did find old pictures of Allison when she was doing local theatre or some sort of singing group.

I agree, this does not sound like SOH's Allison. Just took a quick look, but would be fairly confident in saying that the "turn of phrase" is English and references also. "Big pond" sounds like a British site too.
I recall seeing something about Allison singing too...seemed to be well thought of.

I couldn't find the picture of the girl also named Allison Stanley that I remembered from last year.

But a quick google and yahoo search came up with several ...
There is a cartoonist by the same name and a muscician in Chicago.. (i think...clarinet/??)

Someone in Calif.. on a city council by the same name..

Also came up with a couple Stanley Allison's.... believe it or not!

I sincerely don't think this blog is from the person we know as Allison. I think some of that blog was written in 2004 when Allison Stanley must have been going through a good chunk of her initial chemo and surgery... She showed up in the SO2 House in the fall of 2004...

I don't think her state of mind that year would have even toyed with some of the topics in the blog that you posted. It just seems to out of character for her... and I'd be willing to bet that it isn't her and possibly someone else by the same name.

I'll look again.. But I just don't see it being her.

Have you forgotten Allison's famous "I can't imagine not having health insurance" comment? When Jill told her HM's she hadn't had health insurance for years. When Allison charted her monthly expenditures for the financial counsellor, medical expenses acounted for only $400. Out of a $2,500 income. It wasn't cancer treatments, but Allison's $800 rent and other ridiculous expenditures that accounted for her $48,000 debt.
